All You Need to Know About the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Finally! The wait is over! the highly anticipated iPhone 8 is now available for Pre-order at the Apple official website and final release date is September 22.
Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were announced alongside the iPhone X, Watch Series 3 and a new 4K Apple TV at the company’s event in September 12. The iPhone X is Apple’s most premium, tenth-anniversary iPhone while the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are the successors to last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Compared to the changes being made in the iPhone X, pronounced iPhone ‘ten’, both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have got minor upgrades. And while both the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are slightly better than their predecessors.

Below are what you need to know about the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

iPhone 8 Specs and Design – What’s new?
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus both feature a raft of new specs – and a slightly tweaked look.

Both now feature a glass back and front, with Apple saying the devices use “the most durable glass” in the smartphone world, though they haven’t revealed quite what this means. More interestingly, perhaps, the glass back paves the way for the pair of support Qi wireless charging, which represents a major step forward for the iPhone. As you’d expect, the iPhone 8 Plus is the larger of the two devices, with a 4.7-inch Retina screen, while the iPhone 8 Plus measures a larger 5.5 inches.

However, they stop short of featuring an OLED screen, as some had predicted, and instead retain the same IPS screen found on older iPhones. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still gone, though, which may continue to irk audio buffs.

Under the hood, there’s Apple’s new A11 Bionic processor, which the company says comes with a host of performance benefits. And in terms of camera specs, the iPhone 8 features a 12-megapixel primary camera, while the iPhone 8 Plus features a more impressive dual-lens setup that pairs a 12-megapixel rear ƒ/1.8 lens with a telephoto ƒ/2.8 lens.

The table below features a full rundown of the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus’ specs.

iPhone 8 Software – Will it run on iOS 11?
Way back at its annual WWDC conference in June, Apple showcased the latest version of its mobile and tablet operating system: iOS 11.
iOS 11 is set to launch on September 19 this year, meaning that both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will ship with Apple’s latest software.

So what’s new? Well there are plenty of upgrades coming with iOS 11, including an update to Messages. In iOS 11, there will be a bigger focus on apps and stickers, featuring a redesigned app picker. There’s also cloud syncing so your messages carry (or delete) across from an old phone to a new phone.
Siri is getting a new voice that makes her much more lifelike too. It’s a clear bid to tackle growing competition from rivals like Amazon’s Alexa and the Google Assistant. She’ll also be able to translate your voice and speak out the response.
Other changes include updates to the the camera and photos, a redesigned control centre, and modifications to Maps, Apple Music, and the App Store.

Price: The iPhone 8 costs $699 SIM-free for the 64GB version, rising to $849 for the 256GB variant. Things get even more eye-watering when it comes to the iPhone 8 Plus, with the 64GB Apple phablet costing $799, and the 256GB model going for a whopping $949 off-contract.

Globacom still on their free browsing day, recall that last month 11th of August supposed to be Glo free data day in Nigeria, but unfortunately, it was stopped by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) few hours before the day.

Good news guys,  the Glo Free Data Day is back and it will hold by September 28, 2017. NCC stepped in and tried to stop the Free data day promo in which I thought would be the end of the Glo Free data day promo, but as thing stands now, it seems they have resolved all the issues concerning the proposed NCC embargo.

The major problem with Glo is the issue of their epileptic data signal, but if you do not have issues with Glo network then it's time to enjoy freebies. According to Glo;
You enjoy up to 200MB worth of data to browse your favorite websites, chat and stream videos, but customers need to meet set of voice and/or data usage threshold within 7 days to the free data day.
It is very easy eligible for the free data day offer, because if you are actively using the Glo network then it should not be a problem for you. To be eligible just fulfill the following threshold 7 days before the promo set day.
  • Use N150 or more on voice calls PLUS 100MB OR
  • Use N250 or more on voice calls.
If you meet the above requirements, you will receive an SMS announcing your eligibility for the free data day.

You don’t need to do anything to qualify for Glo Free Data Day, all Glo customers who meet the set threshold are eligible.

Thursday 28th of September is the day.

iOS 11 Has Released, Here's How to Install it on Your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Apple has released the new mobile operating system - iOS 11, which is the next major software update for eligible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models. The company announced the release date at a special event in California last week, where it also unveiled the long-awaited iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and Apple Watch Series 3.

The new software was first announced at the tech giant's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, and includes a range of exciting new features. It will come pre-installed on the iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus, but can also be downloaded onto older Apple devices - so even if you're planning to stick with your old iPhone, you can still benefit from the software upgrade.

The latest iOS 11 features include Siri's new translation feature, the animated emojis for iPhone X, a redesigned Control Centre, peer-to-peer Apple Pay, portrait lightning on iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X (in beta), front-facing portrait mode, improvements in screenshot capturing, and more.

The new iOS 11 is also available for iPhone 5s and later, all iPad Air and iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 2 and later and iPod touch 6th generation.

Before you update, of course, be sure to back up all of your data via iTunes or iCloud, if you don’t want to lose your precious photos, messages, or documents. Also, create enough storage space to download the update, about 2GB of space is needed.

Next, you need to check the speed of your internet connection - a WiFi connection is best if possible - and make sure your device is plugged in so that it doesn't run out of battery half way through the installation process.

Installing iOS 11 is easy. Here's how;
There are two methods available for you to update your Apple device to iOS 11,
Method 1: OTA Update
If you are on a Wi-Fi network, you can upgrade to iOS 11 right from your device itself -- no need for a computer or iTunes.
✓ Just connect your device to a power source and go to Settings > General > Software Update. Your device will automatically check for updates and then show you the available iOS 11 upgrade.
✓ Hit Download and Install.
✓ Now it will begin downloading iOS 11. This can take a while, especially if you have a slow Internet connection. Once the download is done, tap Install.
✓ Tap Agree when you see Apple’s Terms and Conditions.
✓ Your iOS device will restart and iOS 11 will be installed.

While this is the recommended method to install iOS 11, it might not work for some, such as those who don’t have a Wi-Fi connection or those who don’t have enough free space on their device. If that is the case, there’s another method for you.
Method 2: Via iTunes:
First of all, if your iTunes is not updated, kindly update it to v12.7
✓ Connect your iOS device to your system. iTunes should automatically pop up.
✓ Click the iPhone or iPad icon in the top-left corner of iTunes, next to the drop-down menu for the various sections of your iTunes library.
✓ Click on Check for Update> Download and Update
✓ Follow the prompts, accept the terms, and let iTunes will complete the process.
That is all. Enjoy the amazing features of the just completed iOS 11 on your Apple Smartphone.

The entry of the cable network (TSTV) into Nigeria’s media space was one of the top trending topics on the internet now. On October 1st, 2017, the 57th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, a new cable television platform known as Telecom Satellites TV (TStv) will launch its services that very day.

TS is a Direct-To-Home (DTH) broadcast service that came to be as a result of a multi-transponder agreement between ABS and Telcom Satellites TV to deliver DTH to Nigeria on the ABS 3A satellite. The service is set to air more than 100 TV channels at first and grow to above 150 with time.

Bright Echefu, STV Managing Director and CEO said: “Our vision is to provide premium video experience to Nigerians at affordable prices. Our services will enable the viewers to experience HD and SD video and internet surfing at the same time. We are the first indigenous local operator in the region to launch such a premium platform with a variety of services to Nigerians, who have been so far paying exorbitant prices to foreign operators.”

TStv is offering internet and broadcast services all in one package similar to what Zuku offers its subscribers in Kenya to effectively tame DStv in that East African country.

The TStv market entry is fostered on the theme of freedom to enjoy better and cheaper payTv services. The new station has a lower entry price and a monthly subscription window with Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) offerings. Subscribers on TStv may save themselves up to 200% in their monthly satellite TV budget as the new service provider unleash a pricing war on the existing monopoly. If you are hearing about this new pay TV network for the first time, you need to read my previous article on TStv to understand better.

I'm glad to let you know that we have got the full list of TSTV decoder channels available for subscribers to enjoy. With over 200 channels, TStv got you covered all day.

Multichoice’s Digital Satellite TV (DStv) has been around for about 22 years. Its monopoly was last challenged by HiTV which has long ceased to be in the market owing to a mix of factors that include huge debts and boardroom tussles. With HiTV out, DStv dominance. But with the announcement of the new TV provider entering the market with the Hybrid Broadcast Broadband (HBB) technology that combines both satellite and internet service for TV services, DStv is re-strategizing to sustain its market share. Already it is being speculated that the company is planning to adopt the PAYG offering, although it is yet to be announced.

Telcom Satelite TV isset to challenge the monopoly of South African Multichoice’s Digital Satellite TV (DStv) in the pay TV market. It is the next big thing in Nigeria and  TStv Africa decoder shall be on sell nationwide from 1st October! But before then, dealers outlet location addresses shall be made available for easy accessibility of the decoders. Details can be gotten at their official site www.tstvafrica.com

Mozilla Debuts Beta Version of Firefox Quantum - 2x Faster and 30% Less Memory

Mozilla has released the Firefox 57 beta, a completely overhauled browser that will be called Firefox Quantum when it launches in stable form on November 14th, 2017.

"Since the version number 57 can't really convey the magnitude of the changes we've made, and how much faster this new Firefox is, we're calling this upcoming release Firefox Quantum," Mozilla explained in a post announcing the Firefox 57 beta.

Firefox Quantum spearheads Mozilla's effort to win back users lost to Chrome since Google released it in 2008, and revive its position as a formidable rival in the browser wars as it once was against Internet Explorer in the 2000s.

Firefox's share on the desktop has declined from 30 percent in 2010 to less than 14 percent today, while on mobile it has just five percent, according to StatCounter.

The next release is the culmination of work under Project Quantum, a major effort to deliver a new Firefox browser engine that exploits multi-core CPUs and GPUs on today's desktop and mobile hardware for a faster and smoother browsing experience.

The users of Firefox 56 could open over 1,000 tabs in a few seconds thanks to another projected called Quantum Flow. Mozilla boasts that Firefox Quantum is twice as fast at loading popular websites as it was a year ago and claims on its own tests of the beta that it beats Chrome to many websites, including the Google login page.

Ahead of Firefox Quantum's release, Mozilla's developers have removed 468 bugs that may have impeded the browser's new speed capabilities. Part of the Quantum improvements come from a new "super-fast CSS engine" that was written in Rust and, unique to browsers, runs in parallel across multiple CPU cores.

In other changes, Firefox now prioritizes active tabs so that these download and run before other tabs that are open in the background.

Finally, Firefox Quantum will introduce a new modern interface called Photon, which Mozilla says is better suited to today's high DPI displays. On Windows PCs with a touch display, menu sizes adjust to suit a mouse or finger. It also introduces a new look to menus, square tabs, a Library button that is a home for bookmarks, downloads, history, saved Pocket articles, and so forth.

Mozilla argues that the new browser will feel natural on both touch- and mouse-based systems, including Windows 10, macOS High Sierra, Android Oreo, and iOS 11.

New Firefox Quantum arrives November 14, 2017. Before then, you may like to test the Beta version of Firefox Quantum on your devices. Find the download link below;

Unfortunately, the free data is not unlimited, it was capped at 200MB just as Glo said. Some of the people have started dropping the testimony on their twitter page

Qualified customers already notified via sms and you can dial #122# to check your Free Data Day balance if you do not have an existing data plan.

Hope you have received your free 200MB data?

October 2017 Browsing Solutions - Best and affordable Data Plans To Go For

$

October 2017 is here, may all of your previous failures turn into success this month. Happy New Month, my people! And I wish all Nigerians a Happy 57th Independence Anniversary.

I'm here again to share the best and cheapest internet data plan for Android, PC, iOS, Windows phone and more, which I hope they really nice for you to enjoy in this new Month. If you are like me who has no official life outside the internet, you will know that the issue of the internet data subscription is a very serious one. I practically feel like a fish cast onto the dry land whenever my internet connection is down.

Before MTN went the way of “a greedy wolf” who consumes data as if their life depends on it, I used to subscribe to only MTN double data (100% data bonus) and it was recommended for lots of my readers too, because MTN Nigeria has the widest coverage, not doing bad with regard to speed and their reliability is above average.

Unfortunately, MTN is no longer given consumers value for their money in terms of data calculation and consumption. Am I the only one noticed this?

Globacom is the worst network in most areas, 9moble is generally the most expensive, but also the fastest. Airtel is in the middle of the two divides. Not expensive, not the slowest, not the most reliable.

For now, Airtel Special Priviledge offer that gives 6GB data for N1500 seems to be the best that offers both speed and value for my money. So, let me start with the Airtel network.

Airtel Nigeria
I will start with Airtel, here are the best data plan on Airtel.
1. Airtel Special Priviledge Offer: You can 6GB Worth of Data For Just N1,500.
This plan works for all devices ranging from Android, BB10, iPhone/iPad, Laptops, Windows phone, Symbian/Java phones; you just name it. For now, this plan seems to be the best data plan that offers both speed and value for the money. Tested and confirmed.

Dial *440*161# to activate the plan. Just make sure that you haven’t used that sim to subscribe to airtel 2GB for N200 before otherwise the plan won’t work on your sim. Read more detail about Airtel Special Priviledge Offer here.

2. Airtel 100% data Offer: This is not based on eligibility. It gives you 400MB for N200, 1.5GB for N500, 3GB for N1000, 7GB for N2000 or 10GB for N2,500. You get free extra 200MB when you activate 200MB for N200, extra 750MB when you activate 750Mb for N500, extra 1.5GB when you activate 1.5GB for N1000, extra 3.5GB when you activate 3.5GB for N2000.

Dial *144# to activate any of the plans.

3. Airtel Unlimited Plans: Airtel Unlimited Data Plans are specifically designed for heavy data activities like downloading, streaming and sharing with friends and family. If the Airtel network is good and fast in your location, then Airtel Unlimited will be recommended for you, most especially if you are a business person or you spend most of your time on the internet. You can check how to activate Airtel Unlimited Data Plans here.

NB: There is an ongoing promo with Airtel Unlimited 20. All you need is to buy a new sim, activate the Unlimited 20 and you will be given Airtel MiFi/Router for free plus more data and validity date extension. Visit the nearest Airtel Shop to enjoy these unbeatable offers.

Glo Nigeria
If the Glo network is good and fast in your locationor you are still part of their data lover and enjoying their services, I will show you how you get 200% Data Bonus!
With N500 you can get 3.2GB while 7.2GB will cost you just N1000 and 24GB for N3000.
First of all, make sure your Glo line is within the range of 100% data offer i.e by topping up your data balance before it expire or 3 days after it expires you’ll get 3.2GB for N1000 instead of 1.6GB. All Glo subscribers can enjoy the offer, both new and existing customers are eligible.

Once you are sure that you are qualified, follow the below steps.
  • All you have to do is to log on to their website: https://www.quickteller.com, create a new account if you don’t already have
  • Ignore every other notification message telling you to install the quick teller app, just head straight to the web version of the site
  • Click on data and choose Glo data bundle
  • Choose your preferred data plan>>enter your glo mobile number and confirm your order
  • Fill in your ATM details and you should get an OTP from your bank.
  • Once your payment is complete, your glo data will be sent, visit hsi.glo.com anytime or dial *127*0# to view your GLO data and its expiration date.
Purchase any Glo data plan of your choice with the above method and you will receive 100% data bonus, courtesy of Quickteller plus 100% data bonus you received from topping up your data balance from Glo, making a total of 200% data bonus. Enjoy!

9Mobile Nigeria
Let me start here with 9Mobile Night and Weekend Data Plan that offer 2GB for N1000 and 5GB for N2000 with Free 24/7 WhatsApp data bonus. Those people who are spending most of their time on the internet or who likely consume 8GB data or more per month, can combine this 9Mobile night and weekend data plan with Airtel special priviledge offer or the 100% data bonus that is currently ongoing on Airtel network.

9Mobile will act as the backup for Airtel, but you must be ready to spend at least N3,000 per month on data before this can be profitable to you. This combination will save you from frustration while not breaking your pocket.

1. 9Mobile Night and Weekend Data Plans
  • N1,000 for 2GB of data to browse the web and download from 7PM to 6.59AM weekdays for 30 days. Dial *229*3*12# to subscribe. This plan also works 24 hrs on weekends.
  • N2,000, for 5GB of data to browse the internet and download from 7PM to 6.59AM weekdays for 30 days. Dial *229*3*13# to subscribe. This plan also works 24 hrs on weekends and includes 100MB extra data which allows you access Whatsapp 24hrs a day (weekdays and weekends).
2. 9Mobile Free YouTube Streaming With Any Browser: As we know, 9mobile is offering free night data for YouTube streaming from the hours of 1AM-5AM to customers who purchase a data bundle on 9mobile. If you subscribe to any 9Mobile data bundle, you’ll be given free night data capped at 2GB data to stream via YouTube from 1am-5am, for 30days.

It seems the 9mobile YouTube free 2GB daily is no longer works for 500 naira monthly plan. It is better for you to subscribe to 1000 naira data plan or above, if you really want to benefit from the free Youtube free night data. The good news is, you can also download with it using AnonyTun VPN. See the full instructions on how to get it done here.

3.9Mobile Unlimited Download For 2 hours: If you have large files to download, instead of using the Night Plan, the 9Mobile Unlimited Browsing for N400 is very okay, though the plan was designed only to stream videos on YouTube for 2 hours, but by the power vested in AnonyTun VPN, you will be able to browse and download anything you like. See the full instructions on how to get it done here.

MTN Nigeria
For now, I can't recommend MTN Data Plans for you guys, because MTN is no longer given consumers value for their money in terms of data calculation and consumption.

For those who still need it, you can go for the double data offer. With it, you can get 3GB for N1000, 20GB for N5000, 40GB for N10,000. See how you can activate it here.

Remember, TStv is coming with  free 20GB data + Decoder that comes with wifi, 500GB hard disk and all going for Just N5000? We really have interest in that 20GB!
Few hours left and every Nigerian is anxiously waiting for October 1st, not because 9ja is gonna be 1 year plus, but TStv wanna redefine satellite tv in Nigeria.

Anyway, let see how things turns out and hope TStv fulfill their promises.

Factors To Be Considered Before Buying TStv Decoder

Yeah! TStv officially launched its services in Nigeria yesterday 1st of October, 2017. It is no longer a dream waiting to happen, it is now a reality and in fact a dream come true. Now, we can say we have what we can call our own. What a wonderful news on Nigeria 57th independence day.

The venue was Sheraton hotels Abuja, Nigeria. In attendance were men and women of timber and caliber which includes The Minister of information Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Fortunately, the Federal Government granted a 3-year tax relief to the newly inaugurated Pay TV operator in the country, TStv Africa, as well as tax-free TStv dividends to all investors in the company.  The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced this yesterday at a dinner to mark the official unveiling of the new company.

Below are the highlights of the occasion of TStv Africa launching at the Sheraton hotel. The event was broadcasted live on AIT.
  • The MC did his job perfectly by keeping the guest alive and introducing the speakers
  • We had in attendance the Minister for information, Former minister for aviation Mr FemiFanii Kayode, some artist and others that I can’t mention
  • They introduced some entertainment channels like “Hits tv”, M Africa, gande movie and so on. But there was nothing like the “bein sports”, and“fox sports”
  • A notable staff from Nigerian broadcasting commission addressed the crowd and made a mistake of mentioning “DSst” instead of TStv. Don’t blame her its one of those things, everyone is used to the SA giant
  • Lastly, the honorable minister officially inaugurated the decoder which is exactly like what is on their website. Any newly established creative/entertainment industry in Nigeria is now eligible to 3 years tax relief. This is a good incentive. I wish they extend this across all sectors
From the points highlighted above, you should notice that the TStstv Africa launched without mentioned dedicated sports channels that can broadcast prominent football action across the major leagues of the world, but don’t let your heart be broken, they offer other innovative features that are first of its kind in Nigeria. You will never regret buying their decoder trust me.

Before Purchase the TStv here are the factors to be considered
  • Equipment cost:  With N5,000, you get everything that will get you started (TStv decoder +Remote+ dish), exclusion of the installation fees.
  • TStv on Quickteller Payment Platform:TStv has made the subscription/renew painless, you’ll be able to pay your TStv subscription on Quickteller as it has now been added to the Quickteller payment platform. Hopefully, it will be added to other e-payment platform very soon.
  • 20GB Data Bonus: You get the 20GB free only when you first buy the package. Subsequently, you receive 10GB on renewal, only if you subscribed to monthly subscription which is that of N3,000.
  • Data Allocation: It has nothing to do with watching of TVST channels. It’s just a Value Added Services to all TStv subscribers. For instance, if you subscribe for 1 month, You’ll get 10GB Free data from TStv. And you can always buy 1GB of data for N300 once you exhaust your data.
  • TStv Decoder Claimed to have a WiFi Router Capability: This simply means that with your TStv Africa decoder, you can share your internet connection from your decoder with anyone within the wifi signal coverage. This is otherwise known as WiFi tethering or hotspot
  • Pause Subscription: You can only pause your subscription for seven days. Which means you have 7 days of grace plus your 30 day validity period. Meaning you can’t use your full month subscription for 60 days or more. Pause Subscription is Only Available for 1 month subscription plan.
  • TStv Movie Box: This box contains series of new movies available for purchase for a token of N300.
  • Daily Subscription cost as low as N200, 3 days subscription (N500), Weekly subscription (N750) etc.
  • Lastly, Tstv is not yet available in commercial quantity as at the time of publishing this article. 2nd of October, 2017. Please do not make any advance payment to any person or group.
Below is the message from their Official Facebook page:
We wish to inform the general public that the commercial sale of TStv Africa decoders has not commenced and there is no request from TStv Africa to subscribers for payments of any kind whatsoever for decoders. The public is hereby advised to disregard any instructions from any person(s) to make payments. For further information on our products and services, kindly visit www.tstvafrica.com and our social media handles. TStv Africa ...connecting your world!
Watch the full interview with the CEO of TStv Africa Mr Echefu Bright

I do not feel disappointed with lack of sports channels on TStv at the launching. TStv offer pay as you view, Wifi routing, huge data, different channels for everyone, pausing of subscription capability and PVR, all in one package with a very affordable price. And the internet speed is peaked at 4G. It means even villagers can enjoy 4G network. I take my hat off for all the people behind this freaking awesome.

Update About TStv Africa - Bein Sport Channels, Frequency and Symbol Rate to Track The Channels

Many Nigerians are ready for TStv decoders and some neighboring countries are also ready to come to Nigeria and buy the decoders and go back to their respective countries, but up till this moment there is no single update on when the product will be out for sale.

You guys should note: at times, launching of a product doesn't mean the product will be out the following day. Flash from the past, Nokia launched the Nokia 3, 5, and 6 I guess in march this year, but the phones were released into the Nigeria market in August and July in Europe. As regards the test transmission, a comment posted on their official Facebook page by one of their fans: Princess Debby confirmed that;"Tstv is now available and active on ABS satellite position with more interesting channels.....just their testing channels and you can now watch some movies on there testing channels with strong decoder.
12529/V/36000, from 60cm upward..... currently 37 channels".

An update about the Sport Channels, most especially the Bein sports.
Some people composed a letter on-behalf of beIN to TStv for intellectual property infringement. This is the letter below; Zoom the image or read the content directly.
ILLEGAL PIRATING OF BEIN CONTENT

           CEASE & DESIST

Dear Sir,
I am writing on behalf of beIN - a global sports and entertainment group, headquartered in Qatar. As you would be aware, beIN provides a subscription television service to more than 50 million customers worldwide. beIN's broadcast territories include the middle East & North Africa, France, united States and Canada, South East Asia, Australia & New Zealand.

beINis the exclusive license of the broadcast rights to many of the world's major international sporting leagues and other entertainment content in our various territories. We also produce and own the copyright in our content. (Together, "beIN Content")

beINinvests substantial sums in acquiring those rights, which are highly valuable. Other parties are not permitted to copy and re-broadcast beIN Content without express authorization.

beINis also the owner of trademark and other rights in the name "beIN" and associated branding ("beIN Trademarks"). Other parties are not permitted to use beIN Trademarks without express authorization.

Intellectual Property Infringement by TStv
We have become aware that your company TStv intends to launch a pay television service to subscribers in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa generally. Information about this service is contained on the website at http://tstvafrica.com.

The below image was taken from your website, which indicates that you intend to make beIN channels available.

On the other hand, TStv has issued a disclaimer against the documents, below is their reply;
DISCLAIMER!!
We are not unaware of the messages circulating the social media regarding letters from Bein Sports and Turner respectively. We wish to inform Nigerians once again that the letters being circulated are FAKE. They were designed primarily to bias Nigerians. Kindly disregard the said frivolous letters.
TStv Africa...connecting your world!
As I earlier said in one of my previous post, TStv have bein sports on their list of sports channels on the website, but during the launching, TStv CEO did not say anything of sports airing. In fact, he didn't mention a single sport channel among the list of their channels. Therefore, don't raise your hope too high.

But, with the following interesting features that can't be found elsewhere...
*Over 200 channels
*WiFi Router Capability
*Free 20GB data bundle
*PVR option
*In-built Camera for video calling
*Video conferencing
*Movie Box
*Affordable subscription
*...and 50GB storage space.
TStv is still worth going for. Let hope and believe they will do as promised, TSTV ALL THE WAY.

Sad News: MTN Is About to Cut Down The Volume Of Their Monthly and Weekly Data Plans

$
0
0
I don't know the reason why MTN Nigeria has decided to cut down their data volume at this time when 1GB data for N300 with a month validity and the uninterrupted 4G network is knocking the door from TStv Africa.

Recall that, The MTN data plans were reviewed in May 2016 and it was then the data plan of N1000 increased to 1.5GB, the data plan of N2000 increased to 3.5GB etc, but a few months back, I noticed that MTN reduced  the 1.5GB data to 1GB, though they added the bonus of 500MB to it.

For those using double data, if you noticed when subscribed to the data plan of N1000, instead of receiving 3GB data, you will be given 2GB + bonus of 500MB, making 2.5GB in total. After that, MTN went the way of “a greedy wolf” who consumes customers' data as if their life depends on it to extend that no matter how you manage their data, the 2.5GB won’t even last you for 7days talk less of 30days.

Now, MTN still wants to reduce their Monthly 1.5GB for N1000 data plan to 1GB (Plus 500MB 1am -7am), 3.5GB for N2000 to 2.5GB (Plus 1GB 1am-7am) as well the weekly 750MB for N500 to 500MB (Plus 250MB 1am -7am).

MTN has started sending messages to their subscribers that starting from October 7th, they will be modifying their data plans. If you haven't seen the message, maybe yours will arrive later, probably before the date. Below is a sample of that SMS.
Y'ello! From Oct, 7, we're modifying the 1.5GB plan to give you 1GB +500MB bonus only at night (1am-7am) when you buy or renew...
Let take N1000 data plan for example, it means if you exhaust the 1GB during the day, you won't be able to use the 500MB bonus to browse until it's night from 1am till early morning 7am. MTN why this?

Is this not going to chase away their subscribers? I have switched to Airtel 1+1 offer of 6GB for N1,500 combined with 9Mobile Night and Weekend Data Plan of 5GB for N2000 ever since I noticed MTN data zapping and for now, I'm very ok with the combination of both the data plans.

USB OTG Cable - 7 Important Things You Can Use it For On Android Devices

$
0
0
OTG is short for On The Go. USB OTG is a standard that enables devices to talk to one another. USB OTG Cable is an important tool to creates a link between your mobile phone and other computer peripherals such as USB flash drive, Mouse, Keyboard, Digital Camera, Game Pad, Card reader, External hard-drive etc.

OTG Cable can do some really clever things and many people have never heard of it. If you don't know your OTG from your OMG, let's discover what it is and why it's so great.
Below are the 7 important things which you can do with USB OTG Cable on your Android Devices

1. Share Battery Charge Between Two Android Devices

For sharing the battery charge, all you need is a regular data/charger cable that you use to connect your smartphone to your PC and a standard USB OTG Host cable. If you do not have an OTG host cable, then you can buy them very cheap from any mobile store or from online shopping sites.

When you have everything ready, connect the USB data cable to one of the phones. Connect the USB OTG host cable to the other phone. And finally attach the two cables together. You will notice that the phone with smaller charge level has started to charge. The charging will continue until the batteries of both the phones has almost the same level of charge.

2. Super-fast Files Transfer Between Two Device

When it comes to Android files transfer, lots will choose the commonly used way, Bluetooth, NFC, USB cable and PC for example. Nonetheless, when using these methods, connection issues always occur. And transmission is quite slow. So, in today's guide, a new solution – USB OTG will be introduced.
USB OTG, empowers USB devices like Android phones to act as a host and then allows other USB device to be attached to them. You can make direct connection between two Android phones/tablets and transfer files between Android via USB OTG. By using USB OTG, Android phones plugged-in can communicate with each other without the need to be connected to a computer.

When it's come to transferring heavy files like game data and HD movies, using an OTG cable is the best way to get it done with a fastest way.

3. Connection of 3G Modem with Android Devices

People who have WiFi only tablets or without 3G support might find the need to use 3G Modem with their device to get something downloaded quickly when the broadband is too slow or down. This can be done using an Android app called PPP Widget. As the name suggests, it is a widget, not an app. It is available in the Play Store and it is free. Download it to your device from here.

4. Using an External GamePad

Playing games on a touchscreen is not the same as holding a real Gamepad or a portable console like PSP. Many game developers have finally realized that in order for their games to be successful, they have to support Android. To really win Android users over, they should also accommodate us hardcore gamers who have OTG cables with the ability to hook up controllers to our devices.
Games like Dead Trigger and Asphalt already support Gamepads, but many others are still touch only. Some will only work well with touchscreen input, like Blek, but action games like FIFA 15, Modern Combat 4 and Shadow Gun can definitely benefit from an external Gamepad. If you have a tablet, you can try connecting your Gamepad with your device using your OTG cable.

Flash drives spent a good amount of time as the number one way to take your files with you wherever you needed to go. USB Flash drive is not meant for your computer alone, you can use it with your Android device as long as you have your OTG cable with you. It’s plug and play with no settings needed. Think about the possibilities: watching movies from your flash drive, moving files around, reading documents stored on USB Flash etc.
