The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip isn’t yet released, but that doesn’t mean it won’t make our best Samsung phones list, we simply haven’t delivered our final decision on it yet. The information provided for it now may be updated later.

Even without Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, there are plenty of great Samsung handsets to consider, with the latest addition being the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Samsung is also regularly innovating, with the likes of the aforementioned Galaxy Z Flip, the original Samsung Galaxy Fold, and the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (which was one of the first 5G phones).

With so many phones available now and coming soon, choosing the right one for you can be a daunting task, even if you round it down to just the great ones.

  5. Samsung Galaxy Note 10
  6. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

  9. Samsung Galaxy Fold
  10. Samsung Galaxy A80
  11. Samsung Galaxy A90 5G
  12. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

1. Samsung Galaxy S20

The most one-hand-friendly version of Samsung’s flagship

Release date: March 2020 | Weight: 163g | Dimensions: 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9mm | OS: Android 10 | Screen size: 6.2-inch | Resolution: 1440 x 3200 | CPU: Snapdragon 865 / Exynos 990 | RAM: 8GB/12GB | Storage: 128GB | Battery: 4,000mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 64MP + 12MP | Front camera: 10MP

While slightly less exciting than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra, the standard Galaxy S20 has a lower price going for it, as well as a more pocket-friendly size.

Though at 6.2 inches this is still far from a small phone, and with a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and one of the best quality AMOLED screens yet put on a phone, the display is worth shouting about.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 also has an impressive camera setup, headlined by a 64MP telephoto sensor, which is joined by a 12MP main and 12MP ultra-wide one – so it misses out only on the S20 Plus’s depth sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 is also available in a 5G flavor, has a large 4,000mAh battery, and top-end power, thanks to either a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset (depending on where in the world you buy it).

2. Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is just right

Release date: March 2020 | Weight: 186g | Dimensions: 161.9 x 73.7 x 7.8mm | OS: Android 10 | Screen size: 6.7-inch | Resolution: 1440 x 3200 | CPU: Snapdragon 865 / Exynos 990 | RAM: 8GB/12GB | Storage: 128GB/256GB/512GB | Battery: 4,500mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 64MP + 12MP + ToF 3D | Front camera: 10MP

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is an absolutely fantastic phone. The design isn’t massively changed from the Galaxy S10 Plus, but most other elements have been upgraded. The screen now has a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, it packs a more powerful chipset, and its cameras have had a big boost.

The most exciting lens is its 64MP telephoto one, facilitating a 3x hybrid optical zoom, but there are also 12MP main and 12MP ultra-wide ones, as well as a depth sensor.

Add in a massive 4,500mAh battery, 5G support, and all the things you expect from a Samsung flagship, like water resistance and an in-screen fingerprint scanner – and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is clearly one of the very best phones from any company, not just the South Korean giant.

3. Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

The ultimate flagship – at an ultimate price

Release date: March 2020 | Weight: 166g | Dimensions: 166.9 x 76 x 8.8mm | OS: Android 10 | Screen size: 6.9-inch | Resolution: 3200 x 1440 | CPU: Snapdragon 865 | RAM: 12/16GB | Storage: 128/512GB | Battery: 5,000mAh | Rear camera: 108MP + 48MP + 12MP + ToF 3D | Front camera: 40MP

If money were no object, then the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra would rank higher on this list, as in many ways it’s the best Samsung phone you can purchase.

It has a massive 6.9-inch 1440 x 3200 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus a quad-lens camera, headlined by a 108MP main sensor and also featuring a 48MP periscope zoom one capable of up to 100x digital zoom.

It also, of course, has the same top-end chipset as the rest of the Galaxy S20 range, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM – which is more than the other two models.

So you get a bigger screen, more power, an arguably higher spec (though inconsistent) camera, and a massive 5,000mAh battery, but the price – and size – will prove impractical for many.

More detail about Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra can be found in our previous post here.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

This is a top Samsung phablet

Release date: August 2019 | Weight: 196g | Dimensions: 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9mm | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 6.8-inch | Resolution: 1440 x 3040 | CPU: Snapdragon 855 / Exynos 9825 | RAM: 12GB | Storage: 256GB/512GB | Battery: 4,300mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP + 16MP + ToF 3D | Front camera: 10MP

If you’re looking for the best Samsung phone to come with a stylus, the latest Galaxy Note flagship is just that. It comes with a massive screen, powerful processor, and four rear cameras.

The highlight of this device is the aforementioned S Pen, a stylus that helps you do loads with your device. It isn’t just used for drawing and taking notes; a range of gesture controls help you get the most out of your handset.

Yes, the phone is expensive (prohibitively so, to some), but every penny you pay goes straight into one of the best Samsung phones about, and one of the best handsets full stop.

5. Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The second best S Pen option

Release date: August 2019 | Weight: 168g | Dimensions: 151 x 71.8 x 7.9mm | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 6.3-inch | Resolution: 1080 x 2280 | CPU: Snapdragon 855 / Exynos 9825 | RAM: 8GB | Storage: 256GB | Battery: 3,500mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP + 16MP | Front camera: 10MP

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 isn’t quite as high on this list as the Note 10 Plus, and that’s because of a few problems we had with it, like a battery life that left us wanting more.

However, the Galaxy Note 10 is still an impressive smartphone, and it’s a lot more affordable than the Note 10 Plus.

So if you’re looking for a great new smartphone that combines impressive processing power, great video recording hardware, and the S Pen stylus for note-taking, doodling, and drawing, then the Note 10 could be that handset.

6. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

A still-great Samsung flagship

Release date: February 2019 | Weight: 175g | Dimensions: 157.6 x 74.1 x 7.8mm | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 6.4-inch | Resolution: 1440 x 3040 | CPU: Snapdragon 855 / Exynos 9820 | RAM: 8/12GB | Storage: 128GB/512GB/1TB | Battery: 4,100mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP + 16MP | Front camera: 10MP + 8MP

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus spent a long time at the top of this list, and with good reason.

It’s a big upgrade over the previous year’s model, with a newer all-screen design, enabled by Samsung ditching bezels in favor of a punch-hole camera. Speaking of the camera, you get three on the back and two on the front, making this a very versatile camera phone.

The fingerprint scanner is in the screen, which is far more ideal than it is on the back as was the case with the S9 range, and there’s a big 4,100mAh battery, which gives the Galaxy S10 Plus a lot of life. So much so you might even consider using its Wireless PowerShare feature to juice up other devices with it.

The Galaxy S10 Plus also has a big 6.4-inch screen and all the power you’d expect from a 2019 flagship.

7. Samsung Galaxy S10

Similar to the S10 Plus, but smaller

Release date: February 2019 | Weight: 157g | Dimensions: 149.9 x 70.4 x 7.8mm | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 6.1-inch | Resolution: 1440 x 3040 | CPU: Snapdragon 855 / Exynos 9820 | RAM: 8GB | Storage: 128GB/512GB | Battery: 3,400mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP + 16MP | Front camera: 10MP

Samsung’s Galaxy S10 is largely similar to its plus-sized sibling, just a slight downgrade and slightly more compact.

You miss a few features by opting for the S10 over the Plus, but if you’re looking to save a little money it’s still going to offer the core highlights, such as that Infinity-O screen, the slick design and high-end internals.

The fingerprint scanner is also in the screen on the Galaxy S10, plus it looks gorgeous with an incredible 550 pixels per inch on this model. You’ve got a variety of color options, plus there’s the choice of either 128GB or 512GB depending on how much space you’ll need.

The battery life on the standard S10 isn’t as great as it is on the Plus, but it’s not something to turn your nose up at as it can still easily survive a full day of use.

8. Samsung Galaxy S10e

A more affordable S10

Release date: March 2019 | Weight: 150g | Dimensions: 142.2 x 69.9 x 7.9mm | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 5.8-inch | Resolution: 1080 x 2280 | CPU: Snapdragon 855 / Exynos 9820 | RAM: 6/8GB | Storage: 128/256GB | Battery: 3,100mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 16MP | Front camera: 10MP

Fancy an S10 but don’t want to spend lots of money? Samsung has you covered with its more affordable Galaxy S10e, which is a new addition to the company’s range of flagship phones for 2019.

The S10e loses a lot of the top-end features you’ll find on the two S10 products above in this list such as the in-screen scanner or high-res display, but it has a slick design for its lower price.

There’s a dual rear camera that can take some impressive shots considering the price of this handset, plus you’ll be sporting a top-end chipset inside alongside either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

Overall, the Galaxy S10e isn’t anywhere near as impressive as the other two parts of the S10 range, but if you’re not looking to spend lots of money, this is one of the best Samsung phones for you.

9. Samsung Galaxy Fold

The most forward-thinking phone you shouldn’t purchase

Release date: September 2019 | Weight: 263g | Dimensions: 160.9 x 117.9 x 6.9mm (unfolded) | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 7.3 and 4.6-inch | Resolution: 1536 x 2152 and 720 x 1680 | CPU: Snapdragon 855 | RAM: 12GB | Storage: 512GB | Battery: 4,380mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 12MP + 16MP | Front camera: 10MP + 8MP + 10MP cover camera

The Samsung Galaxy Fold is Samsung’s most ambitious and arguably exciting handset yet. It’s also the company’s most expensive and arguably impractical.

Its 7.3-inch folding screen is sure to wow literally everyone who sees it, and it means you basically have a phone and tablet all in one.

It also has a pin-sharp resolution, a small secondary display for when the main screen is closed, and flagship specs, including a high-end Snapdragon 855 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and six cameras (three on the back, two on the front, and one on the ‘cover’).

In other words, this is about as flagship as flagships get, as well as being the best choice at the time of writing if you want a foldable phone.

But that’s a big if – the screen is even more delicate than most, and that price tag puts it out of reach for most buyers. The Galaxy Fold is certainly impressive, which is why it’s on this list, but it’s also certainly aimed at early adopters with lots of money to burn.

10. Samsung Galaxy A80
Samsung’s best affordable smartphone so far

Release date: May 2019 | Weight: 220g | Dimensions: 165.2 x 76.5 x 9.3mm | OS: Android 9 | Screen size: 6.7-inch | Resolution: 1080 x 2400 | CPU: Snapdragon 730 | RAM: 8GB | Storage: 128GB | Battery: 3,700mAh | Rear camera: 48MP, 8MP, ToF 3D camera | Front camera: Same as rear

Samsung’s premium Note and S-series aren’t its only good phones, as it has the Galaxy A devices that provide toned-down specs at lower prices. However A phones are also Samsung’s testing grounds for more novel ideas, and that’s exactly what the Samsung Galaxy A80 is, with its cameras.

When you want to take a selfie on the Samsung Galaxy A80, which has no front-facing camera (in order to make way for a full screen with no complications), a panel housing the device’s rear cameras pops up and spins around, which is a quirky and fun gimmick.

There’s more to the phone than its cameras though, with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display and impressive charging speed, making it a decent option for people who don’t need one of Samsung’s premium devices.

11. Samsung Galaxy A90

5G from Samsung without the price hike

Release date: September 2019 | Weight: 206g | Dimensions: 164.8 x 76.4 x 8.4mm | OS: Android 9.0 | Screen size: 6.7 inches | Resolution: 1080 x 2400 pixels | CPU: Snapdragon 855 | RAM: 6GB/8GB | Storage: 128GB | Battery: 4500mAh | Rear camera: 48MP f/2.0 + 8MP f/2.2 + 5MP f/2.2 | Front camera: 32MP f/2.0

The Samsung A90 5G is the cheapest way to get 5G connectivity on a Samsung phone, and one of the cheapest ways to get 5G connectivity full stop… sure, it makes some compromises to get to a lower price point (no waterproofing, no wireless charging), but you might well consider the trade-offs to be worth it.

It’s not exactly a budget phone either, but you do get that 5G and a top-of-the-range Snapdragon 855 processor here for your money. The 6.7-inch screen looks the part too, and the triple-lens camera on the back is not to have sneezed at either. One of the best mid-range Samsung phones.

With 5G now appearing in more parts of the country, it might be wise to make your next smartphone purchase one that’s futureproofed – the coverage is only going to get better over time, and those download and upload speeds really have to be seen to be believed.

12. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

The best Samsung foldable phone

Weight: 183g | Dimensions: 167.3 x 73.6 x 7.2mm | OS: Android 10Screen | size: 6.7 inches | Resolution: 1080 x 2636 pixels | CPU: Snapdragon 855 Plus | RAM: 8GB | Storage: 256GB | Battery: 3300mAh | Rear camera: 12MP f/1.8 + 12MP f/2.2 | Front camera: 10MP f/2.4

The Galaxy Z Flip is going to really appeal to some people, and really put other people off – it all depends what you think of that foldable hinge in the middle, which makes the Galaxy Z Flip an innovative phone in 2020 at the very least. It’s still early days for the handset, so we’re hoping that it stands the test of time and that the hinge is truly durable.

Samsung hasn’t skimped too much on specs here either – the Galaxy Z Flip comes with the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and 8GB of RAM, which should really be plenty for all the mobile phone tasks you want to do. It also has a few software tricks up its sleeve, with the ability to split the screen in half, top to bottom, if needed.

The foldable Galaxy Z Flip is undoubtedly a cool piece of technology, but is it worth the admittedly high asking price? That all depends on whether you want something that’s practical or attention-grabbing. Still, we have to give Samsung high marks for persisting in trying to make the foldable phone market a viable proposition.

Google’s Zoom contender, called Meet, is now free for everybody

Google Meet, Google’s newest video chat service, will soon be free for everybody. The service, which was previously locked behind G Suite, is opening up to everyone with a Google account.

COVID-19’s shelter-in-place requirements made millions of people turn to work from home. That led to a huge spike in video chat users. Teleconferencing service, called Google Meet, free to everybody, the decision takes aim at Zoom, the contender video chat service that’s become a household name during the stay-at-home era spurred by the novel coronavirus.

Before, Meet was only available to paying customers of G Suite, Google’s line of enterprise apps that includes Gmail, Drive, and Docs. Until now, anybody could join a meeting by clicking on a link, but creating a meeting required a G Suite membership.

The free version of the product requires a Google account, and video calls have a 60-minute cap. But Google said it won’t enforce that rule until after Sept. 30. The free version will also allow up to 100 participants and include features such as screen sharing and real-time captions.

Users will be able to access the service at meet.google.com or through the iOS and Android apps.

Google founder Pichai said Meet recently “surpassed a significant milestone” and is adding 3 million new users every day. Usage has increased 30-fold since January and Meet now has more than 100 million daily meeting participants.

Like Skype and Zoom, Meet will retain some premium features for G Suite customers, including dial-in phone numbers, larger meetings, and meeting recording.

How to use Google Meet, free

To sign up for the free version of Google Meet, go to the Google Meet page. Enter your name, email, country, and primary use for Google Meet (personal, business, education, or government). Agree to Google’s terms of service, and hit Submit. You’ll get a notification when the service is ready for you to use.

Once it’s available, here’s how to use the free version of Google Meet:

  • Go to meet.google.com (or, open the app on iOS or Android, or start a meeting from Google Calendar).
  • Click Start new meeting, or enter your meeting code.
  • Choose the Google account you want to use.
  • Click Join Meeting. You’ll have the ability to add others to your meeting, too.

Simple as that! Happy video chatting.

However, I think the general availability of Google Meet was too late to ride this wave for users. The work-from-home trend started two months ago when Google Meet was still locked behind the GSuite paywall. Zoom was ready and burst into the public consciousness as a result. By now, it seems like most of the people who were going to transition to a video chat app have already done so, and they picked Zoom.

Let’s hear your view about this general availability of Google Meet.

A total of 3,256 Households and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have received funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) N50 billion targeted credit facility (TCF) to cushion the effects of COVID-19.

Abubakar Kure, managing director of Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), said the disbursement marks the first phase of the facility.

The CBN had, in March, announced the provision of N50 billion as a stimulus package to support households and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

Kure said the first batch of beneficiaries had received the facility, adding that subsequent disbursements would be done on a weekly basis.

He explained that the idea was to provide liquidity in order to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic and help the economy to normalize.

Kure, who congratulated the beneficiaries, urged them to repay so that others could benefit saying that this was meant to serve as a short term relief for them.

He noted that the process was transparent and accessible to all and sundry and ensured only applicants who were qualified were selected.

He said beneficiaries will be announced every other week.

Applications for the facility are to be made only to NISRAL Microfinance Bank, an entity owned by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

8. Website Testing Jobs

Website testing is a procedure where you need to test a website or web application in terms of functionality, usability, interface, compatibility, performance, or security-wise.

There are various companies who want to know about the user experience while accessing their website before launching them.

So, they approach website testing platforms to get a thorough review. They may also submit a few questions that they need an answer.

As a tester, you need to record your screen with a screen recorder while browsing their site explaining your experience.

Once you’re done, your submitted review is checked by the client and if it satisfies their need, you get paid.

You can make at least $10 per test, but the availability of the job is not frequent.

So, to make the most out of it, it’s better to join multiple websites.

Here are 5 website testing platforms that you can join.

  1. https://www.usertesting.com/be-a-user-tester
  2. https://www.userlytics.com/tester/
  3. https://www.analysia.com/user.asp
  4. https://www.utest.com/
  5. https://trymyui.com/worker/signup

9. Amazon Associates

Amazon Associates is the affiliate program for Amazon products where you can join in and promote their products to get commissions.

Joining them is quite easy and there is no need to have a blog to get started. Even though a blog can do wonders for you, but you can get started having a YouTube channel.

Once you join them, you can get affiliate links for any product you like to promote. These affiliate links have your affiliate id in it which ensures that whenever anyone clicks and purchases the product, you get a commission.

Even if the person purchases something else, you’ll still get the commission.

Suppose, if you are promoting a camera and the person instead bought a TV by clicking your link, you will receive the commission for the sold product. This gives you enough room to make a great side income.

You can easily make over $1000 per month if you have a high traffic YouTube channel or a blog.

Join Amazon Associates Now

10. YouTube

Obviously, how can we miss this platform?

YouTube is NOT just a video platform… YouTube is one of the most popular SEARCH ENGINES in the world, second only to Google with 1.9 billion active monthly users.

I think most people know how YouTube works and how you can make money from it?

You just have to create a channel and upload videos on it. Once you hit at least 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time, you can apply for monetization via Google Adsense.

Now, many YouTubers struggle to get views and subscribers which affect their income.

Obviously, to make a decent income, you should get a lot of views per month. For that, there are only two ways to achieve it.

  • Pray so that your videos get viral, which obviously can get you a lot of subscribers and views.
  • Rank your videos on YouTube search engine so people can find your videos by typing and searching keywords.

The first one is not much in your hand, but the second one is.

You just got to know the right way to do YouTube SEO that will ensure your videos are getting ranked for keywords.

Once this happens, your views will automatically skyrocket and you can expect better Ad income.

Note: These websites will not make you a millionaire overnight, but hard work coupled with consistency, you would get there over a period of time

Remember that you can’t expect free money without doing any work. All the jobs I mentioned here need work and patience.

So, if you are willing to spend a few minutes every day for these side hustles, you are good to go.

Now, it’s your turn to try them and see if it is really worth your time. If you know any other genuine website that can be added to this list, let me know in the comment section.

Story 382890591

Quite a long that we have enjoyed this type of huge internet data for free, but it is time again, as you are reading this post, more than 100GB free data is waiting for you on MTN network, just that it involved IMEI tweaking and I’m pretty sure that changing the IMEI of Android devices is not something new to each and every one of us here.

Note that you cannot get the 100GB data at once, but you can get more than that through the accumulation method. The tweak was tapped from the MTN LTE MiFi data offer. There is a FREE 30GB data offer for those who purchase a new MTN 4G MiFi device.

You as someone who does not purchase a new MTN MiFi device, all you need to do is to tweak your phone IMEI number to that of the MiFi device and you get your FREE 30GB which you can accumulate up to 100GB or more. Just follow the steps below, properly.

Needed Materials

  1. MTN SIM Card (New one is recommended)
  2. Android smartphone device (Android version 5.0 or 6 is recommended)
  3. IMEI tweaking app like CHAMELEON or MTK ENGINEERING TOOL. You can download it from the Google play store.
  4. MiFi IMEI. Don’t worry, I’ll give you IMEI to use below. Just keep reading.

Now, Insert your New MTN sim card now into an Android device and tweak any of the IMEI below to get MTN 30GB for free

IMEI

86773803075****

86773803323****

Analyzed the remaining four (4) digit number (remove the last four star signs and add any 4 digits of choice). Once you succeed in Imei tweaking, go to your phone message (SMS) and send MIFI to 131.

If your IMEI is valid, you will get a successful message as follows: “Thank you for purchasing MTN MiFi device. You have received FREE 30GB data expires 30/05/2020 03:37:54. You are also qualified for 100% bonus on data bundles from N1000 to N500”.

If you are new to IMEI tweaking, kindly check out this: #link

NOTE: You can use the data anywhere to browse; whether on your smartphone, tablet, modem, MiFi, etc.

How to Accumulate

To accumulate the MTN FREE 30GB, follow the same procedure of tweaking IMEI and make sure you change the last 4 digits of your IMEI to other numbers.

When you have successfully obtained a valid IMEI, go to your SMS and send the same message as above again. Repeating the steps acurately 3 times will give you more than 100GB.

To check your data balance, dial *131*4#

If you are new to IMEI cloning, follow this link instruction to get it done: shelaf.net/2014/12/how-to-get…

No charge is required, but note that IMEI tweaking is not for lazy people, you have to try and re-try till it’s done and the earlier the better.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

DStv, GOtv Hike Price as MultiChoice Applied 7.5% VAT – Effective from June 2020

Story 383842942

It is so unfortunate, at this difficult time, Multichoice Nigeria has applied a 7.5 percent value-added tax (VAT) increase on all its services on DStv and GOtv package.

President Muhammadu Buhari had signed the finance bill, which increased VAT by 50 percent, into law on January 13. The new VAT regime, which sees an increase from 5 percent to 7.5 percent, came into full effect on February 1st, 2020.

Since coming into effect, MultiChoice has absorbed the 2.5 percent hike on behalf of its subscribers, an action that has kept that VAT rate at the pre-February rate of five percent.

But on Thursday, some DStv and GOtv subscribers in Nigeria took to social media platforms to share screenshots of messages received on their decoders, stating that the VAT increase will be implemented across all subscriptions from June 1st.

According to the text directed to customers, effective from 1st June 2020 7.5% VAT will be applied on all DStv packages… meaning you are going to be paying higher prices as seen below;

New DStv Prices Effective from June 1st

  • DStv Padi: N1800 to N1850
  • DStv Access: N2000 to N2150
  • DStv Yanga: N2500 to N2565
  • DStv Family: N4000 to N4300
  • DStv Confam: N4500 to N4615
  • DStv Compact: N6800 to N6975
  • DStv Compact +: N10,650 to N10,925
  • DStv Premium: N15,800 to N16,200

For GOtv Users, here are the Changes

  • GOtv Max: N3200 to N3280
  • GOtv Jolli: N2400 to N2460
  • GOtv Jinja: N1600 to N1640
  • GOtv Lite: N400 to N410

In my opinion, I don’t think we need to blame MultiChoice about this because sources told us that there is no way the pay television giants can continue to pay the difference between the old and the new rates for much longer, as this has impacted very negatively on its finances.

The source said: “Pay television service is not exempted from VAT and I want to believe that MultiChoice is the only company still charging the old VAT rate on its products and services. It is important to note that VAT is not part of the turnover of companies, which they, in fact, collect on behalf of the Federal Government and remit the same on a particular date.”

Nevertheless, this is not the best time for MultiChoice to increase its subscription price, knowing fully well that a lot of households are running short of finance or perhaps struggling to make ends meet.

What do you have to say about this new 7.5% VAT added to the DStv and GOtv package?

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has upgraded its mobile banking application, added exciting features that allow group transfer and transfer to a telephone number on the refreshed version of its mobile app.

Group Head, Digital Banking, UBA, Sampson Aneke, who spoke about the new features of the upgraded mobile app, said that the group transfer feature was introduced to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), while the feature that allows transfer to telephone numbers is to enhance financial inclusion across Africa against the background of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He explained that the ‘Group transfer’ option allows users to create groups, save members, and transfer funds to up to 100 members at the same time.

“With this option, the user can do a single lump sum debit and multiple credits to beneficiaries irrespective of banks where their accounts are domiciled,” he added that this makes the refreshed UBA mobile app, the first app in Africa to be able to pay salaries, thus addressing a major need in the MSME space.”

Explaining further, Aneke said “We are pushing services to what we call Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). These are for sustainability, banks that would survive in the coming days would mean that the more BYOD you do, the more are ready to survive. We are taking services to the devices that customers hold themselves. You would be happier to use the device you came out with from your home to transact than shared facilities.

“We are thinking of voice banking across various channels, we are thinking of image withdrawals where we can just scan your image and you can withdraw. So, some of the things that would replace POS, some are already here while some are still in the making like QR code, we are already in the current app, so you wouldn’t need POS. We are making QR code so easy so that you can on your app the merchant to like and use regularly.”

Story 386950360

Video editing is one of the most lucrative ways to earn a full-time income. The job market for film and video editors are exploding. So, if video editing is your hobby or you’re considering a career change, you’ll be happy to know that video editors can make a full-time income no matter if you’re freelancing or signing with a company.

Most of us tend to give up in video making because it may sometimes seem capital intensive but that’s not the case.

Thankfully, there are tons of great free or inexpensive mobile video editing apps that you can use to create professional-looking videos on your phone or tablet.

How Easy Is It

The only way this would be easy for you is if you want to stay in one spot forever.

If you want to advance your ability and skill, set then it’s not going to be an easy ride.

Do I need to invest?

Sometimes, the apps come for free, but some apps offer premium services that can only be bought.

Be rest assured that their premium services are very affordable most of the time.

Can All Phones Do It

I doubt if these apps and programs will work on all mobile devices. You should look into your device compatibility before moving forward to avoid disappointment.

In this article, you’ll get a quick feel for 10 of these awesome apps.

This guide aims to help you choose the perfect app for your needs so that you can go from hours of slaving away in front of your computer to creating killer, hassle-free videos on the fly. So, if you’re looking to go into YouTube or any other form of vlogging (video blogging) then you should look into some of these mobile apps that can save you some stress and help you one way or another.

Alright, let’s dive in!

1. FilmoraGo (Available on iOS and Android)

FilmoraGo is a very useful application that lets you carry out a lot of operations on any video.

Things you can do on this app include:

✓Trim videos (meaning you can crop a part out of a video easily).

✓Merge multiple videos into one.

✓Mute video sound.

✓Change music in videos to any song of your choice.

✓Add title clips and any other clip to videos.

✓Write and add texts into Videos.

✓Add filters and color effects to videos.

✓Add pictures to videos.

✓ Slow down certain parts of videos or the entire video itself.

✓And so much more.

The best part is that you can have access to all these features in the free version of the application and it is very easy to use for users of all skill levels.

It also works well on most mobile devices irrespective of your phone specifications.

Another advantage of Filmorago is that unlike other video makers who input watermarks into all parts of your video, Filmorago puts it’s watermark after your video is done so it doesn’t affect your content.

I’ve personally used this app a couple of times on my YouTube channel and users have not complained of any quality drops.

2. VivaVideo (Available on iOS and Android)

VivaVideo is a very popular video editing app that works especially well for short clips for social media. Using a storyboard style of editing, clips can be loaded, edited, trimmed, and merged together. With over 200 video filters, text input, and fast/slow motion support.

Viva Video also offers the following services:

✓It enables you to represent videos in a square form.

What I dislike about Vivavideo is that it puts an uncomfortable watermark into your video which may affect the generator outlook of your video making you look unprofessional.

The only way to get rid of this watermark though is to upgrade to the pro/premium version of the app.

Also, Some very useful and advanced features are only available on the pro version which costs (about $2.5 i.e NGN1000).

3. Smart Video Resizer (Available on Android)

Have you noticed that whenever you make videos using your phone, it always comes in a very large size?

This can be a problem for you, especially when distributing your videos because it will cost you more data as well as take more time to process.

Smart Video Resizer is an app that can help you in this case.

This app enables users to reduce the size of the videos to a more uploadable size while maintaining most of the visual quality.

It’s a very good initiative especially in mobile phones and you should really give it a try.

4. Inshot (Available on iOS and Android)

Inshot is another video editing mobile app with a lot of features and is very easy to use.

A lot of users currently make use of this app for Instagram videos, skits, and even YouTube videos.

This app is very similar to the vivavideo app but without the watermark.

Although, this app is less sophisticated to the apps listed above and is just a simple alternative for your video projects.

The app lets you perform the following tasks:

✓Trim videos (meaning you can crop a part out of a video easily).

✓Merge multiple videos into one.

✓Mute video sound.

✓Change music in videos to any song of your choice.

✓Add title clips and any other clip to videos.

✓Write and add texts into Videos.

✓Add filters and color effects to videos.

✓Add pictures to videos.

✓ Slow down certain parts of videos or the entire video itself.

✓And so much more.

The downside is that you do need to pay $2.99 to remove the in-app ads and the watermark added to videos.

That said, the InShot app is simple to use and has everything you need. This app is perfect for creators who want an app that does it all without too many frills.

5. Kinemaster (Available on iOS and Android)

Kinemaster‘s intuitive interface makes mobile video editing easy. Well, as easy as it can be.

The app allows you to edit clips together like you would on most desktop video editing programs.

You can also add effects, text, and music. The app allows you to record audio to add to your video, and there are plenty of music and sound effects on the KineMaster Asset Store.

The downside is that the free version exports your videos with a watermark. And the monthly fee of $4.99 is more than most other video apps.

Even so, the app has a surprising amount of features and is certainly good enough for professional video editors looking to edit a video on the move. It’s also one of the best video editing apps available for Android users.

6. WeVideo (Available on iOS, Android and Chromebook)

WeVideo is leading the charge when it comes to cloud-based video editors – i.e., software accessed and hosted online instead of working from your device’s hard drive.

And this app is great – if you’re happy to upgrade to one of the premium versions. The free version comes with all of the basics to test the waters. You can trim clips, add filters, choose music from the built-in library, and more.

However, you’re only given 10GB of cloud storage for your video edits, and the free version puts a watermark on your videos. So if you plan to create more than one video, you’ll need to upgrade.

WeVideo’s premium plans offer some fantastic advanced features and functionality. These include a music library featuring commercially licensed music, and the ability to share videos in 4K Ultra HD resolution.

7. PicPlayPost (Available on iOS and Android)

PlayPicPost Video Editing App allows you to create video collages. This feature is perfect for creators looking to narrate a separate video clip.

For example, fitness professional Melissa Made creates video collages to teach workout moves for her Instagram followers. In one video, she’ll demonstrate the move, and in the other video, she’ll describe it.

To access this awesome feature, you’ll need to upgrade to the premium version of the app, which has a monthly fee.

The app also lets you trim clips, add your own music, and edit the collage frame color, shape, and size.

8. VideoShop (Available on iOS and Android)

VideoShop Mobile Video EditorVideoshop is a great personal and professional iOS and android mobile video editor app. You can trim seconds easily, slow footage down, or merge multiple clips into one all in this one app. As an easy to use mobile video editor for Android and iOS, this app is excellent for fast editing, adding filters, sound effects and so much more.

Other features include adding text, attaching a soundtrack to your video, enhancing filters, and animated transitions. With all these features to play with you wouldn’t need another video editor app to promote your business.

9. Adobe Premiere Clip (Available on iOS and Android)

Adobe Premiere Clip is a very popular free video editing app. This app links into Adobe’s well-known Premiere Pro product but works equally well as a standalone app.

The app provides two editing modes: Freeform and Automatic. Freeform allows you to retain the most control over your edit, and Automatic lets Adobe trim your clips and add transitions to speed up the editing process.

You can also automatically color-correct your clips, add your own music to your videos, or choose music from the built-in library.

What’s more, Adobe fans will be happy to know that this app syncs beautifully with other Adobe staples, such as Lightroom.

10. Quik App (Available on iOS and Android)

Quik Video Editing App is another free video editing app from the makers of GoPro.

It’s designed to speed up the editing process so that you can capture, edit, and post incredible videos on the fly.

You’ll be impressed by what Quik can do automatically. It searches your video footage to find great moments, can automatically trim and edit your clips, and the app can even add transitions. However, you can still manually edit your clips if you want more control over your video edit.

If you’re looking for an app that can help you to create awesome videos extremely quickly, this is the one for you.

Conclusion

Consistently publishing compelling video content can be a challenge.

But with the use of a great video editing app, the job becomes far easier. With the right app for your needs, you’ll be able to create and publish content on the move that your audience will love.

So try out a few of these apps, identify the best one for you, and start editing!

POS Fraud: See How You can Be Scammed by POS Agent and How to Prevent It

Story 388614596

There was a time in the history of trading and commerce that one had to carry a lump sum amount of yams in exchange for a goat. Times changed and the mode of payment was cowries. Further down the lane, paper currencies and coins became the means of transaction. Now in the 21st century all you need do is swipe a card, punch some digits and your transaction is successful.

A POS (Point Of Sale) terminal, more commonly called “POS machine” in Nigeria, is a portable device that allows businesses to accept bank card payments for transactions. Most POS terminals are issued by banks. The POS system was introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2012 as part of its plan to enforce the cashless policy in financial transactions across the country.

POS agents are now many in Nigeria. It is very difficult to identify a scammer POS agent and some criminals are using the means to exploit and steal sensitive users’ data, including debit and credit card numbers. So we need to stay informed about new methods for compromising data as well as what we can do as POS users to prevent them.

When you go to POS to withdraw your money, you have to be very careful when you hand over your ATM card to an agent. This article will show you how you can be Scammed when you go to withdraw from POS Agent when you not careful.

There are some POS Agents that built their kiosk in such a way that the customers cannot see anything that they are doing. When you give the agent your ATM card. The agent will quickly snap the front and the back of your ATM card with his Android phone. Some criminals often use installed cameras to obtain access to your card details.

After that, he will help you to insert your ATM card inside the POS and ask you to enter your PIN, he will try to master the PIN you entered or look at the keyboard of the POS after you enter your PIN. They 4 keypads your enter will be rough.

After that he will have gotten your ATM card number, your CVV, your PIN, and your card expiring date which are the details he needs to withdraw money from your account using an online platform.

If you receive any call claimed from your bank that a 6-digit number has entered your phone that he needs it to confirm your account number. Please don’t reveal it to him that is what will call OTP, once he enters that 6-digits number you will see a debit alert.

POS Fraud Prevention

  • If you go to Point of Sale (POS) to withdraw money, make sure your eyes are everywhere to see all actions that the POS agent is performing using your card.
  • Also, cover your PIN number when entering it. Criminals often use installed cameras to obtain access to your digits, but covering them completely can certainly help prevent fraud.
  • Another way to prevent data theft is to check your credit card and debit card transactions regularly for fraudulent charges and contact your bank right away should you notice anything suspicious. If it is reported within a few days, most banks can reimburse you for unauthorized activity and they are more likely to be able to prevent further charges from occurring.

It is up to you to fight back against these criminals and remain vigilant. Kindly share the post with your people to learn from it.

The Newly Launched Facebook CatchUp App Will Make You to stop Buying Airtime

Story 389255481

The NPE Team from Facebook has announced the launch of an app that’s basically get-together for phone calls (not video calls). CatchUp, which is free to download, lets users see who’s available to voice chat, and then allows them to initiate both one-on-one and group calls within the app.

CatchUp is a standalone app that is not connected to the Facebook app. You don’t have to have a Facebook account, or an account with another Facebook-owned company, to use it. Instead of running on Facebook friends, it works by letting the app access the contacts on your phone and builds your friend list from there. So, it doesn’t mean all of your relatives who are your Facebook friends will be able to call you more easily — just all the randos in your contacts who have also downloaded CatchUp.

I think this is a very nice app and it comes at the right time as it will prevent you from spending your hard-earned on purchasing airtime and help bring people to stay in touch during this era of social distancing.

Users on Catchup can make calls 1-on-1 or group calls with up to 8 people. Creating a group is extremely simple and starting calls is a one-button tap.

Talking about the app’s uniqueness, Facebook is trying to solve the issue of people hesitating to call their friends and family because they are worried about disturbing them. The app solves this by indicating who is ready and available to take calls right in the opening screen of the app.

Based on our studies, we found that one of the main reasons people don’t call friends and family more frequently is that they don’t know when they are available to talk or are worried they may reach them at an inconvenient time. Says FB

Facebook says it is “testing” CatchUp for a “limited time” in the United States for iOS and Android. If you’re in the United State, ready to chat, and are fine with giving Facebook-affiliated service access to your contacts, you can download it now.

Others should expect the app to roll out a few weeks from now once testing is complete.

Android 11 Launch date, Features, Beta Program and Everything Else You Need to Know

Story 390054950

Already, we’ve seen a trio of developer previews, we’re now up to the fourth developer preview of Android 11, which means we get a better look at some of the new features Google has in store for us in its next version of smartphone software, though we’re going to be waiting a bit longer to find out specific details about Android 11’s new features.

Currently, it’s only available to download for a few Pixel phones, and it’s not a public beta. That means to install it you have to go through the process of wiping and flashing your phone.

It does feel kinda cool and nerdy when you do it, but it’s really not worth trying if your Pixel is your primary phone. This is a developer preview, so treat as such for now. Try to hold out until the public beta released.

Google was set to provide a full-on preview of Android this coming week, but it is unfortunate that the event has been postponed, leaving us in the dark about Android 11’s promised enhancements. Still, here’s what we know so far about Android 11, including new features and availability.

When is Android 11 being released?

Google released its first developer preview of Android 11 on Feb. 19. That’s pretty early in relation to past Android rollouts — last year, the first beta for Android Q (before it became known as Android 10) debuted on March 13. Of course, that release was a beta aimed at an audience that included early adopters as well as developers. Google has stressed that this Android 11 developer preview is really aimed at app makers for testing purposes and not something consumers will want to install on their everyday phone.

Since February, Google has stayed on track with updates to the developer preview. A second developer preview popped up on March 18, followed by the third update on April 23. That puts Google on schedule for Android 11, despite the global disruption to life and work caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The coronavirus outbreak has had one noticeable impact on Google’s Android 11 plans. Normally, Google uses its Google I/O conference in May to talk up new features in the operating system and release a beta for a wider audience. But Google I/O was canceled this year as countries look to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Alternatively, Google was planning to show us what to expect with Android 11 during a June 3 online preview event. Not only was that event going to detail new features coming with the OS update, but we were also likely to see a beta release at that time. However, Google says it’s postponing the Android preview, likely in response to ongoing protests in US cities over the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. No date was given for the rescheduled event.

Google’s Android 11 schedule still promises a final release in the third quarter of 2020. That’s in line with recent Android updates. Android 10 arrived on Sept. 3 last year, while Android 9 Pie landed on Aug. 6, 2018. The year before that Android Oreo debuted on Aug. 21. We’d expect Android 11 to get finalized in that August-September time frame.

Android 11 Features

Expect a detailed look at Android 11 on June 3 during Google’s online event, where we’re expecting more details than what we’ve seen so far from the developer previews. While release notes for the third developer preview largely highlight bug fixes and developer tools, we’ve been able to glean some information about the consumer-facing features that will show up in the full release based on earlier releases.

Messaging improvements: Google has detailed a number of changes surrounding conversations, suggesting that chat improvements will be a major focus in Android 11. For starters, the updated OS is emphasizing chat bubbles —  these will keep ongoing conversations in a handy container that you can tap to access from anywhere on your phone. There’s a Bubbles API in the Android 11 preview, which suggests that third-party apps are going to be able to offer this feature as well.

You’ll also be able to access conversations from Android 11’s notification shade, which is adding a dedicated section for conversations. Another developer tool will let apps with copy and paste functionality add the ability to let users insert images when they reply to messages from the notification shade.

One-time permissions: Android 11 will continue to fine-tune permissions, adding an “Only this time” option that will give apps momentary access to things like location tracking, the microphone and the camera. In this scenario, when you stop using the app, the permission expires. It’s a level of granularity that iOS users already enjoy, so it’s good to see that come to Android.

Android 11 will apparently expand on a feature in Android 10 that allowed users to give apps location data only when they were actively being used. That same feature looks like it’s being extended to the camera and the microphone based on the second developer preview.

Support for new screens: You may have noticed a variety of displays finding their way onto Android devices, from foldable screens to panels with cut-outs for the front camera. Android 11 is adding tools that will let app makers optimize their software for these different displays.

Specifically, Android 11 is gaining the ability to detect the angle of the hinge in a foldable phone, so that app behavior can change accordingly. Think about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and its Flex mode, in which the top half of the screen becomes a viewing area, and the bottom half includes the app’s controls. It sounds like other foldable phones will be able to support similar features.

5G support: With 5G wireless networks now up and running, Google is taking steps to make sure that its mobile OS is able to take full advantage of the faster speeds and lower latency that 5G promises. A Dynamic meteredness API in Android 11 will be able to check to see if a 5G cellular connection is unmetered; if so, your phone will be able to get higher resolution images and video. Another 5G-related API makes it easier for apps to downstream and upstream bandwidth. In the second developer preview, Google added the ability for apps to detect the kind of 5G network a phone is connected to, so that the phone’s performance can be adjusted accordingly.

Faster screen refresh rates: In Android 11, apps and games will be able to set preferred refresh rates. That will allow games to take advantage of phones with displays that sport faster refresh rates, which should make for an enhanced gaming experience.

Improvements aimed at streaming services: More things are streaming these days, including Google’s own Stadia gaming service. In Android 11, the first frame of a stream will appear as quickly as possible once decoding starts, which should improve performance for services like Google Stadia.

Call screening improvements: Google says it’s adding APIs that will allow call-screening apps to do a better job handling robocalls.

Mandatory seamless updates: Since Android Nougat, Google’s mobile operating system has included a seamless update feature meant to reduce device downtime whenever a software update rolls out. While many phone makers have adopted this feature, others — hello, Samsung — have not. Starting with Android 11, though, they’ll have to, as XDA Developers spotted source code that makes seamless updates mandatory for any device that ships with Android 11.

Android 11 download: Should I get the current version?

As I said earlier, Try to hold out until the public beta released. Unless you happen to be a developer working on apps that will run on Android 11, you definitely should not. As the list of features makes clear, the Android 11 developer preview is putting the emphasis on under-the-hood improvements, with the major changes right now aimed at providing app makers with tools to get their products ready for Android 11’s final release. If that description doesn’t apply to you, you’re not likely to get much out of using Android 11 right now — and you certainly shouldn’t install the developer preview on anything other than a spare phone or test device.

Even with the postponed Android 11 preview event, it sounds like it won’t be long before more people can download an Android 11 beta that’s a bit more user friendly (though still not in final form).

Android 11 beta program: How to get it

To run the latest developer preview of Android 11, you’ll need to have a Pixel 2 or later. (In recent years, Google opened up the Android beta to other phones besides the ones it makes, but that’s not going to happen until a more stable beta is ready.) From there, you need to download and flash a device system image to your Pixel.

That process is a bit more complex than simply downloading an over-the-air update. You’ll need to make sure that both developer settings and USB debugging are turned on for your target device, and you’ll need to unlock the phone’s bootloader, too. Developers should be able to do all that without any sweat, but it’s not something that regular users are likely to have done before.

Android 11 name: What will it be called?

Old-school Android users — well, those that were around prior to last year — may remember Google’s penchant for naming its mobile operating system after desserts. Prior to Pie and Oreo, we were treated to such names as Nougat, Marshmallow, Lollipop, and Kit Kat.

That changed with Android Q/Android 10, either because Google wanted to signal a new approach for its mobile OS or because coming up with a Q-named dessert proved too taxing, even for Google’s extensive knowledge graph.

Whatever the reason, the current version of Android is simply Android 10 and there’s no reason to believe Android 11 is going to go back to the dessert naming convention. (If it does, we’re up to Android R.) With Google using Android 11 for its postponed beta launch event name, it looks like the era of dessert names is truly over.

How to Set Up Parental Control on Netflix

Story 390610452

Due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the economy, Some countries have taken steps in stabilizing the economy by easing partial lockdown. Like the case here in Nigeria, the restrictions on places of worship, banks, hotels, and airports (to domestic flights) have been lifted, but the schools are yet to re-open.

As a result of lockdown, lots of us are using our time, apart from our work, on streaming services. With a huge number of collections, be it shows or movies, it is easier than ever for a younger audience to stumble upon inappropriate content.

Besides, every family is different when it comes to choosing a content, which is why parents need a wide choice of films and series as well as the controls to make the right viewing decisions for their children. So all the streaming services have integrated various parental controls into their platforms.

In this article, we will guide you to set protections for a younger audience on Netflix.

The Netflix parental controls include the ability to completely remove titles of movies and TV shows that are not appropriate for their age. That will allow parents to set it so their kids can only see G-rated titles, for example. Then, if the kids searched for Inception, it wouldn’t even come up as a result.

Other updates include the ability to add PIN numbers to other profiles so kids can’t access them, review a child’s viewing history, and disabling autoplay of episodes (which comes in handy if parents want to limit screen time).

Set Different Maturity Levels

In Netflix, it is possible to create up to 5 profiles and for each, different maturity levels can be set. As a result, it only shows age-appropriate series and movies.

If you’re doubtful, the ‘Kids’ profile looks different, with an all-white background and a selection that’s only appropriate for kids. How do you proceed? Simply go to the Profiles page and click on “Add Profile”.

“Profile and Parental Controls” hub

If you want to control both you and your kids’ accounts from one place, you can access your Account Settings. From language to content restriction by age, and changing playback settings, you can do it all from this one place.

Viewing Restrictions!

It is important as a parent to ensure our kids access only the films and shows that’s appropriate for them. So what can we do about it? Click on “Viewing Restrictions” from the Parental Controls hub, and select the right age group. Once you do this, that profile can only see content suitable for that age.

Can my kid change the setting if he is aware of the Netflix app?

Well, no! Your kid can’t go in and change it. It needs the account password to access. If you are still not sure, you can set a profile lock as well!

Recommended:Download Netflix Premium to Stream Movies in HD – No Registration, No Subscription Required!

Profile Lock

To set a profile lock, Click on “Change” under Profile Lock, select “require a PIN…” and set a 4-digit PIN. From now, if anyone trying to access it will be asked to enter the PIN.

You may also want to select “Require a PIN to add new profiles” so that your intelligent kid isn’t adding a new profile with access to all shows and movies.

Control your Playback Settings

Some cartoons or even TV series for that matter can be addictive! To prevent your kid from watching back-to-back episodes of a series, go to “Playback settings” on your Profile Hub, simply de-select “autoplay next episode”. Additionally, you can even choose not to autoplay previews on a profile, simply by deselecting “autoplay previews”.

Restrict Specific Titles

Netflix does a pretty good job of deciding what shows or movies are good depending upon age. Even after that, if you find a particular title offensive or inappropriate, there are options to simply exclude a title, or a few of them, by adding them to the “title restrictions” list under “Content Restrictions”.
