Story 391479174

Hi guys, I guessed many of us earned free money from the Branch app referral program. Today I will also be sharing another awesome opportunity with you.

With the instructions on this post, you will earn free ₦1000 and more than ₦50,000 from the PiggyVest app, your earnings are withdrawable to your local bank account with peace, read the full details on how you can earn, accumulated more and withdraw from the PiggyVest app.

What is PiggyVest?

PiggyVest is an app/platform that helps you save money little by little over a period of time which you can collect the money when you highly need it plus VERY GOOD interest. Unlike a regular bank’s savings where you can access the money at any time, Instead PiggyVest helps you maintain your savings discipline while building your savings culture with an interest rate of 10–15%, as well as investing towards production or agriculture Which also gives another interest of 25% plus other bonuses. You can choose to save little amounts of money periodically (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) towards a specific savings target OR lock away funds for a specified period of time.

Is Piggyvest safe?

Yes, any money saved in PiggyVest is 100% safe as all financial information is encrypted and stored to PCI DSS Level 1 compliant standards. PCI DSS Level 1 compliance is a set of rules stated by credit card companies and audited by an independent third party.

Talking about how your money is saved, PiggyVest previously partnered with and used the licenses of two Microfinance banks until early 2018 when they acquired Gold Microfinance bank and its license.
All funds saved with them are warehoused with and managed by AIICO Capital, the leading asset management company in Nigeria, registered and licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

How To Make Money From PiggyVest

There are four ways you can easily make money on PiggyVest, they include:

  • Interest from your funds
  • Welcome bonus
  • Piggy point
  • Referral bonus

In this post, we will focus on how to make money through PiggyVest Referral Program as it is a great means to earn big on PiggyVest.

PiggyVest referral program allows you to refer a friend and earn free N1000! Your friend will also earn free N1000. Meaning both of you earn free N1000, it’s a win-win for you both… It means when you refer 20 people in a day and you will earn 20,000Naira Instantly from the comfort of your home. HOW SWEET IS THAT RIGHT?

The Free money will be unlocked for you once your friend activates their account with just N100. So you need to encourage your friend to activate their PiggyVest account.

I will lay down the detailed instructions on how to earn, accumulate, and withdraw from the PiggyVest app.

How To Make Free N1000 and More Than 20k Per Week from PiggyVest

1. First of all, visit the PiggyVest website using this referral link to create an account and download the app (Note: Signing up without using the referral link will make you lose the ₦1,000 welcome bonus).

2. Fill in your details, including your withdrawal options.

3. Activate your account with at least N100 by linking your Debit Card to the platform. Once your account is activated, you are good to start saving.

4. After completing the activation of your PiggyVest account, click on REDEEM YOUR ₦1000.00 BONUS????

Note: The money belongs to you and you can cash it out whenever it’s moved out from the Safelock. You have nothing to lose.

Now click on Account Tab, Then tap on Refer and Earn ₦1000.00

Copy your referral link and share it with your friends, you will earn free N1000 for every successful referral.

How To Withdraw Your Earnings From PiggyVest

Withdrawing your earnings from the PiggyVest app is easy, but can be confusing at first.

1. To be able to withdraw you will need to verify your email address if you haven’t verified it before.

2. Then, you will need to have at least N1000 on your piggyVest bank and equally have N1000 on your Safelock account, PiggyVest will issue you a personal bank account, with which you can receive money to, you will need to transfer 1000 to your piggybank from your banking app or USSD code to the Providus bank.

How To Transfer to your Flex account

THE Flexnaira Account is where Piggyvest pays all your interests to; interests from Safelock, target, Investify, bonuses e.t.c. Earnings from this account can be withdrawn anytime with no charge. Flexnaira is compulsory because without Flexnaira you won’t get your interest and bonuses. All funds in your Account are yours anytime.

Flexnaira works exactly like a bank account. It has an account number domiciled with Providus Bank Nigeria. With this account number, anyone in Nigeria can transfer money to your Piggyvest Flex account through their bank. You can send funds from your Flex account to other Piggyvest users or withdraw the funds to your bank account instantly.

To Transfer N100 or N1000 to your Flex Account– Go to the Flex account section, verify your details to get a flex bank account, you will be issued an account number, copy your bank account number, then send N100 or N1000 from your normal bank account to the flex account.

Then, safelock the N1000, select 10 days and all your referral earnings will be made available for withdrawal, after 10 days of earning.

How To Quick Save N1000 to your Piggybank

The Piggybank feature works like the actual piggy bank in real life – a box with a small opening usually used by kids to save money. In the Yoruba language, it is called kolo. It is easy for you to put money into it but hard to get it out. When you fund your Piggybank account, you can withdraw your money on your withdrawal days. You also get an interest of 10%.
To Fully activate your PiggyVest account, make sure you put at least ₦1000 in your PiggyBank. Like I said earlier, all funds and interest are yours.

To be able to withdraw your bonus, you will also need to save N1000 to your piggy bank account.

To do that select Piggybank from the home page, then click on QuickSave, input the amount then choose the destination as Piggybank, proceed to make payment with your credit card or through the bank.

After completing these two steps your bonuses and earning will be available for withdrawal after 10days.

However, if you can’t wait for 10 days to withdraw your earnings, you can withdraw anytime, but you will be charged a withdrawal fee of 5% of the amount you withdrew.

To do that, Navigate to my account tab, Select Withdraw, select the source of the withdrawal.

Input the amount you wish to withdraw, select the funding source for the withdrawal fee, input your password, and then proceed to click on break funds.

The amount will be sent to your bank account within a few minutes.

Conclusion

Piggyvest is undeniably one of the best apps for saving money in Nigeria. A lot of people have used this app without issues. Saving money in a bank account is good, but what happens when the urge to spend the money on things that you can live without comes? How about the card maintenance charges, SMS charges, USSD charges (*737*) e.t.c?

Moreover, Piggyvest pays more interest than any bank will pay you for a savings account.

The Piggybank Safelock feature is a powerful tool that can improve your finances. I and many other Nigerians have used it and it has worked for us.

Don’t forget to navigate through your PiggyVest account and get used to it… It is one of the best apps for making money these days.

Drop your comment and don’t forget to share this post with friends via any of the share buttons below.

Google Pixel 4a Design Just Leaked and It’s Surfacing with WIRELESS Charging

A case from U.K-based smartphone case maker, ESR Gear, has leaked hinting that the Pixel 4a is capable of wireless charging.

The case maker shows a render of a user placing the mid-range smartphone on a wireless charger. If accurate, this is a nice upgrade considering the Pixel 3a lacked the feature.

ESR Gear also showcased renders of the back, front bottom, and side of the device. This all-black Pixel 4a will feature a baby blue power button, a pure black rear that doesn’t look glossy like the Pixel 4, and a single rear-facing shooter.

The white Pixel 4a, on the other hand, appears glossy on the rear and sports a light pink button, contrary to the previous Pixel 4a leak showcasing an orange power button.

Google Pixel 4a set to carry a 5.8-inch OLED display, 128GB storage, and a 12.2MP single-camera sensor with great image capturing software, reportedly start selling for $349 – around $50 less than chief rival iPhone SE’s 64GB model.

It also, crucially, reveals the wireless charging feature. Wireless chargers aren’t often seen in the realm of budget handsets, but as the latest iPhone SE took the trouble of incorporating one into its design, the Pixel 4a would feel remiss without it.

The 4.7-inch iPhone SE is a pocket rocket, with a powerful A13 Bionic chip that Google’s Pixel 4a is unlikely to be able to equal. However, the Google phone looks set to compensate with a lower price, better camera, and larger OLED screen.

With a competitive price and comparative features, Google definitely appears to be gunning for the iPhone SE’s top mid-range spot. Will it succeed? We’ll know more for sure once the Google Pixel 4a is formally announced.

It has gotten standard for Google to dispatch another Android version every year and there is synergic expectation from the Android users as well. Are You Using Google Chrome Browser? You Could be Eligible to Get $5,000 Check

$

Story 392969114

Have you ever used Google Chrome’s built-in Incognito Mode to secretly browse on the internet away from prying eyes? If so, you could soon be entitled to a £4,000 ($5,000) windfall from Google.

Why? Well, it’s all thanks to a $5 billion (£4 billion) class-action lawsuit, which has been filed by lawyers who have accused Google of illegally gathering information during users’ private Incognito Mode browsing sessions. It means while you are surfing secretly using that mode, they are watching and gathering information about what you do.

Since this is a class-action lawsuit, anyone who meets the criteria could be eligible to share in the $5 billion payout – provided the lawyers are successful, of course.

The complaint, which has been filed to the US District Court for the Northern District of California by a partner at the Boies Schiller Flexner law firm, states that it has taken action because of “Google’s unlawful and intentional interception and collection” of confidential communications without users’ consent.

This took place, the complaint continues, “even when those individuals expressly follow Google’s recommendations to prevent the tracking or collection of their personal information and communications.” Whenever you launch a new Incognito window in Google Chrome, the software displays a message that this mode is designed to allow you to “browse privately”. It says other people who use the device will not be able to access your browsing history.

Google is very clear that downloads and bookmarks in Incognito Mode will still be saved – exactly like when browsing in a non-private mode. The search giant states browsing history, cookies, site data, and data inputted into forms will not.

The class-action lawsuit argues that Google does “track and collect consumer browsing history,” as well as other online activity regardless of whether or not someone is using the Incognito Mode built into Chrome, or not.

Although Google makes it clear that websites will still be able to record your visit and activity – as well as employers, schools, and the broadband companies, the complaint claims that Google “accomplishes its surreptitious tracking,” using methods such as Google Analytics, the Google Ad Manager and the Google Sign-In button for websites.

Could you be in line for a $5,000 payout?

The proposed class-action lawsuit is seeking damages of at least $5,000 (Approx. 1,940,000 Nigerian Naira) for each user who has browsed the internet in incognito mode since June 1, 2016. With this likely to be well over a million users, and if you are one of them, then if successful the class action could pocket you $5,000 for your trouble and cost Google north of $5 billion (£4 billion) in damages. It is, however, very early days when it comes to such legal cases, so don’t get your payday hopes up just yet.

Eaglehost234 Added A New Security Feature to Protect Their Users Websites

$

Story 393177288

These days we hear of one website or the been hacked. Some people’s pleasure is to see that they hack one popular website or the other. I don’t really know the reason behind this intension, but I think some of them are people who also have a rival website and may feel like bringing another person’s website down, who happens to be in the same niche with them is one of the keys to their success.

Well, to make sure that it’s users are secured and don’t go through such pain, Eaglehost234.com has added the popular SiteLock addon to their system. This means that users who make orders can now choose whether or not to include the SiteLock feature.

Eaglehost234.com already has SSL security feature free for every user without any additional subscription, but they have gone a step further by providing SiteLock security features for its customers which is optional.

What is website SiteLock security?

You’ve launched your site and done lots of hard works to guarantee its success, however, you may have neglected a basic part: site security. Cyberattacks cause lots of cleanups, harm your reputation, and discourages guests from returning. Fortunately, you can prevent it all with effective website security.

Site security shields your site from:
DDoS Attacks. These attacks can slow or crash your site totally, making it blocked off to guests.

Malware. Short for “malicious software,” malware is a typical danger used to take delicate client information, appropriate spam, permit cybercriminals to get to your site, and that’s just the beginning.

Blacklisting. Your site might be expelled from web crawler results and hailed with a notice that dismisses guests if web indexes find malware.

Defacement. This attack replaces your website’s content with a cybercriminal’s malicious content.

Applying or adding SiteLock feature to your site when ordering will protect you from the above casualties.

Why do I need website security?

There are three primary reasons why each site needs security.

Hosting providers secure/protect the server your site is on, not the website itself. You can think of the website-host relationship like an apartment building: management provides security for the whole building, but it’s up to each occupant to lock their door.

You’ll secure your reputation and hold guests as well as clients. Studies show that 65 percent of clients who have had their data stolen by a compromised website won’t come back to that webpage – that is an overwhelming number of guests to lose, particularly for an independent company or site.

Malware and cyberattacks can be difficult to spot. Cybercriminals spend significant time in malware that can tactfully enter a webpage and remain covered up, so your site may be tainted and you may not know it. Some tricky malware attacks incorporate secondary backdoors, a sort of malware that permits cybercriminals to access a site without the owner’s knowledge.

Multichoice to Add Netflix and Amazon Video Prime Streaming Services into Decoder

Story 393304750

Africa’s biggest Pay-TV firm, Multichoice Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with American streaming service, Netflix Inc. and Amazon.com with the aim of adding the two services unto its own decoders.

The move, caught under the Improved Retention section of Multichoice’s outcome introduction, it’s an offered to help the satellite TV provider hold its subscriber and attract potential viewers base that has been waning even with expanded rivalry from digital streaming platforms like Netflix.

When the shares of Multichoice Group jumped by 8.5% to 102.62 rands on Wednesday at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, South Africa, a lot of observers were shocked by the news, as it had not recorded such feat in months.

Some observers said it could be attributed to the 2020 full-year result of the group, which was released on Wednesday. The pay-TV announced a 5% growth in its subscribers base when it rose to 19.5 million. While it recorded revenue growth of 3% to close at R51.4 billion, its core headline earnings were up by 38%. No wonder, it could afford to pay a dividend of R2.5 billion (N57.9 billion) to its shareholders.

The deal was disclosed in MultiChoice’s results presentation, tagged ‘Improve Retention’ shared on its site.

This could indicate ‘If you can’t beat them, join them’ move, as the duo rivals have been giving Multichoice run for its money, creating greater competition, offering cheaper and faster internet speeds, which enabled them to stamp their feet on the continent.

How would Multichoice benefit from the deal?

While observers await Multichoice’s announcement on how the move could affect it’s monthly fee probably in a few weeks, a top executive of the group explained that it is a win-win situation for the company.

“What would typically happen is we would get commission on whatever revenue gets generated by customers coming from our platform,” Chief Financial Officer Tim Jacobs said in a phone interview, according to Bloomberg.

Nigeria’s contributions to the figures

The financials stated that the group recorded 8% year-on-year subscribers growth in Nigeria, highest in Africa, as it recorded losses in Zimbabwe (41%), Zambia 11%, Angola 2%, while Kenya was constant. It also recorded a 22% growth in subscribers revenue in Nigeria.

No doubt, it stated in the report that the group expects it’s new bouquets and 1H FY2020 migration would earn more for the company by the end of the 2021 financial year-end.

Meanwhile, Netflix has also made an effort to produce more African content. Dramas “Queen Sono” and “Blood and Water”, both South African, debuted on the service this year, supported by extensive marketing campaigns.

“There is little overlap between content on Multichoice’s Showmax, that is now 50% local, and a service like Netflix at the moment, hence we find deals with other video-on-demand services complementary,” said Jacobs.

Collaboration rather than the competition has always been the way forward especially in a market like Africa with all its unique imperfections. It is good to see Africa’s biggest Pay-TV firm recognizing their own shortcomings and collaborating to take advantage of each other’s strengths.

Linking your Payoneer account with PayPal is another way of verifying your Paypal account. To verify and Link your Payoneer account with PayPal, follow the instruction below:

1. Login to your UAE PayPal account

2. Drag the pointer to the right hand of your homepage or dashboard and hover it on the “spanner” icon, then tap on Account Setting or on Confirm your account as it may appear.

7. Then click on the ‘Link your Bank‘ button. This may take 2-3 business days to get processed.

Once you are able to do this correctly, your Payoneer account becomes linked and verified with UAE PayPal! You will need to wait for a while before PayPal will charge Payoneer a little confirmation fee, this is usually done twice, unlike the card method.

Once your account has been charged successfully, you will be able to transfer the money paid into your PayPal to the US bank, which you added and you can withdraw it in your local bank or through ATM with the Payoneer Card issued to you.

That is all for now.

Story 394734793

At last, WhatsApp has removed the trigger on payments in its app. The Facebook-owned messaging service announced that users in Brazil would be the first to be able to send and receive money by way of its messaging app. The payments are enabled through Facebook Pay, which parent company Facebook said last year it would be rolling out to Instagram, Messenger, Facebook, and eventually WhatsApp.

The WhatsApp payment system announced in 2018, it was supposed to be launched during the fourth quarter of last year but was postponed. Thank God, it is finally available, you can now send and receive money through WhatsApp securely within your chat with family, friends, and businesses if you live in Brazil.

WhatsApp says in its blog post that the payments service — which currently is free for consumers to use (that is, no commission fee taken) but businesses pay a 3.99% processing fee to receive payments — will work by way of a six-digit PIN or fingerprint to complete transactions.

According to WhatsApp, the payment was built with security, and a six-digit PIN or fingerprint will be required before transactions can be completed. This is to prevent unauthorized transactions.

At the moment, WhatsApp payment is supported by Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards from Banco de Brasil, Nubank, and Sicredi. WhatsApp also says it is working with Cielo, Brazil’s leading payments processor, and has built an open model to make it easy for more partners to join in the future.

The service is already rolling out to users and should arrive for everyone in the coming weeks.

No word yet on when the payment feature will roll out to more countries but we are hoping it will roll out to all countries soonest.

Do you think this will be a better alternative to PayPal?

Twitter Launches 140-Second Voice Tweets

Story 395461318

Talk your tweets — voice tweets — is the new functionality that Twitter has just launched. It allows users to share thoughts in the audio form inside their feeds. The feature will only be available to some iOS users for now, though the company says all iOS users should have access “in the coming weeks.” No word on an Android or web rollout yet.

For users with access to the new feature, the process is pretty straightforward. Users can write a new tweet as they normally might, but now, alongside options to attach a photo or video, there’s a new button where users can record a quick audio message.

“We hope voice Tweeting will create a more human experience for listeners and storytellers alike,” Twitter’s Maya Patterson and Rémy Bourgoin posted yesterday on the company’s blog. “Whether it’s #storytime about your encounter with wild geese in your neighborhood, a journalist sharing breaking news, or a first-hand account from a protest, we hope voice Tweeting gives you the ability to share your perspectives quickly and easily with your voice.”

And, the company notes, 140 seconds of talking can communicate a lot more than 280 characters.

How to Tweet an Audio Clip

To tweet an audio clip, users will open the tweet composer and tap on the new audio tweet icon.

This will open the new Twitter audio recording interface, which will allow users to start recording their sound clips.

According to Twitter, if you reach the time limit for an audio clip, it will automatically start a second audio tweet and create a thread with all of these voice recordings.

Once users have finished recording their audio clip (or tweets), they will need to tap the Done button, which will return them to the traditional tweet composer screen.
Publishing the audio tweet is then identical to publishing a normal tweet.

Audio tweets automatically create an image in which users will need to tap to listen to the clip.

Orange Telecoms, Plans Entry into Nigeria to Dare MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile

Story 396434564

France’s giant telecom firm — Orange, is reportedly planning to make entry into two of Africa’s biggest markets, Nigeria and South Africa.

Reports say Orange CEO, Stephane Richard said the company is looking to widen its footprint in Africa by establishing a presence in these countries but this might take a few months.

“It could make sense to be in economies such as Nigeria and South Africa,” Richard was quoted as saying. “If one considers there are things to do, the time frame I am considering is rather a few months than a few years.”

Although how and when these entries will take place is still anyone’s guess, it is important to acknowledge Orange’s involvement in the acquisition of some telco units across Africa. In 2016, it acquired four of Airtel’s units in Africa. Though Orange had not made any play for South Africa’s telecom market, it had previously made investments in eCommerce, WiFi access, and business services.

Also in 2016, the telecom giant invested N32.7 billion in African Internet Group (Jumia) and in 2017, when Etisalat Nigeria (now 9mobile) fell into financial crisis, Orange was one of the investors and they purchased a 65% stake in Etisalat Nigeria.

What Could This Mean For Nigeria’s Resident Telcos?

It is important to note that Orange is more than capable of taking over the Nigerian market with over 266 million customers worldwide and 89,000 employees in France and 59,000 employees in other parts of the world where its operations are situated. It is also, the tenth-largest mobile network operator in the world and the fourth largest in Europe after Vodafone, Telefónica, and Veon.

One of two things may happen with this shift:

1. Orange could seek a fresh entry.
2. The company could acquire the license of any of the existing telcos like Airtel did, acquiring a license that had been passed down from several telcos starting from Econet or 9mobile from Etisalat.

Regardless of its entry mode, this move into the country, Orange could bring fresh and much-needed competition to the Nigerian telecom sector.

The payments space could also see a significant impact. With over 40 million mobile money users, Orange seems to be making huge revenues from its financial services arm in its current markets. Nigeria has a consistently growing market space and this expansion plans maybe with that as the target.

Though there’s not much information detailing the shift, for now, competition might inject new life to Nigeria’s telecom market and possibly fuel the adoption of mobile money.

New COVID-19 Tracing Tool Appears on Android Phones and iPhones

Story 396570506

A Covid-19 tracing software tool has appeared in the settings of both Android phones and iPhones as part of an update of their operating systems.

The “exposure notification” tool is switched off by default, and is not a tracing app itself.

It enables an app to run in the background while still using Bluetooth.

This lets the app measure the distance between two handsets – and then alert the phone owner if someone near them later tests positive for Covid-19.

The update has caused some confusion, with people querying the new addition to their handsets on social media.

“This is not a new app but is an extra element added to the phones’ operating systems to enable approved developers to build apps that can potentially warn of proximity to infected individuals,” said computer scientist Prof Alan Woodward, of Surrey University.

“Only apps approved by Google and Apple will be included in their app stores where they try to make use of this facility.”

On iPhones, it’s found in the settings app, via the privacy menu and then health sub-section. On Android phones, it’s in the Google (services and preferences) section of the settings menu.

It does not work with the popular COVID Symptom Study app, which has been downloaded more than 3m times.

A team of NHS developers had built a contact-tracing app and trialed it on the Isle of Wight but the UK government is now planning to incorporate software developed by Apple and Google.

This tool is part of that collaboration between the tech giants.

Story 396805445

FinTech giant, PayPal is reportedly planning to soon roll out direct sales of cryptocurrency to its 325 million users, according to three people familiar with the matter.

This is actually very big and good news for the industry as a whole in my thesis. You probably already have your own opinion on these services, which may be great or awful, but we cannot deny how popular these services are; especially for mainstream people.

When will buying BTC/Crypto using PayPal, Venmo become available?

Presently, PayPal can be used as an alternative means for withdrawing funds from exchanges such as Coinbase. However, buying Bitcoin, crypto using PayPal is now in progress, according to new reports. Paypal and Coinbase have been collaborating for a while now.

Rumors are PayPal and Venmo are racing to beat each other’s launch date. According to some insiders, buying and selling crypto on the two apps could become available in the next three months, if not earlier.

A respected industry source told CoinDesk:

“My understanding is that they are going to allow buys and sells of crypto directly from PayPal and Venmo.”

He continued:

“They are going to have some sort of a built-in wallet functionality so you can store it there.”

Which cryptocurrencies can users purchase from PayPal and Venmo?

We currently have no information on which cryptocurrencies PayPal and Venmo will allow users to buy. However, traditional fiat payments processing firms venturing into digital currencies tend to start with the top 10 cryptocurrencies.

At the top of the list at the time of writing, by market capitalization are: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Bitcoin SV (BSV), Litecoin (LTC), Binance Coin (BNB), EOS, Tezos (XTZ) and Cardano (ADA).

PayPal, Venmo, Cash App BTC/crypto processing competitions

Although PayPal & Venmo will command a sizable share of crypto buying, selling and trading market once launched, they face some competitions. In addition to Cash App; which is owned by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, they also will compete with a little known London-based company named Revolut.

Following a partnership with one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges, Bitstamp, in February 2017, Revolut raised $500 million. The new cash flow shot the British financial technology firm to a $5.5 billion valuation.

Conclusion

If the news eventually true, it would represent a deepening relationship between PayPal (which owns Venmo) and the crypto ecosystem. Crypto is increasingly seen as an obvious way to bolster user numbers on fintech apps and create new revenue streams. Indeed, PayPal CEO Dan Schulman has made it clear his plan this year is to aggressively monetize Venmo, which has over 52 million accounts.

Apple Officially Launched iOS 14 – Here are the New Features & Compatible Devices

Story 396805447

Apple has announced iOS 14 on stage at its annual developer’s conference, WWDC 2020, giving the first (official) look at the latest version of its software for the iPhone, and it’s bringing the biggest change to the iOS home screen in years: widget.

iOS 14 brings a fresh look to the things you do most often, making them easier than ever. New features help you get what you need in the moment. And the apps you use all the time become even more intelligent, more personal, and more private.

Experience

You’re able to do more with your iPhone than ever before. So iOS 14 reimagines the most iconic parts of the experience to be even more helpful and personal.

Widgets on the Home Screen

Widgets come in a variety of sizes and can still be viewed in the Today view, but in iOS 14, Apple allows widgets to be added to the main Home screen to live right alongside your apps. To add them, there’s a new “widget gallery” where users can easily add and customize widgets. There’s also a new “Smart Stack” widget that automatically shows relevant apps based on the time of day.

App Library

App Library, a new space automatically organizes all of a user’s apps into one simple, easy-to-navigate view, and intelligently surfaces apps that may be helpful in the moment. It also has a folder with suggested apps and recently added ones for easier access.

Picture in Picture

Play a video in an app, use the Home gesture, video continues playing in a PiP window, which you can move around or dismiss when you don’t want it around anymore.

App Clips

App Clips, which seem similar to Android Slices, let you download a portion of an app, rather than the entire program. Users will scan a QR code to download the specific function they need. You can discover an App Clip by scanning a new Apple-designed App Clip code, or through NFC tags and QR codes, or by having them shared in Messages, or from Safari.

Apple Messages

Messages app now handles 40% more messages than a year ago, as well as twice as many group messages.

It gets some updates too, like pinning people up top in your conversation list, mentions and inline replies in group threads, and new styles for memoji (including face masks and more age groups).

Car Play

CarPlay will let you make your iPhone your car key, starting with the new 2021 BMW 5 series. This works through NFC, you tap the phone to the door to unlock, then place it on the charging pad in the car and hit the start/stop button and you’re on your way.

You can share a car key through iMessage, including with a restricted driving profile (for the teenager in your life). This will also work in iOS 13.

Siri

Siri now has a more compact design, showing the animation in the bottom part of the screen, and giving you cards up top. It no longer has a full-screen UI which covers up whatever you were doing when you called her up.

Siri also has twenty times more facts now than three years ago, and gets a translation function that seems like a Google Translate clone.

New Translate App

A new translate app in iOS 14 is designed for conversations and works completely offline. All you have to do is tap on the microphone icon and the app will translate to your chosen language. There will be 11 languages supported at launch.

iOS 14 Compatible Devices

iOS 14 will be out this fall, but a developer preview will be available to Apple Developer Program members starting today, with plans for public beta for all iOS users in July. iOS 14 will work on the iPhone 6S and up — the same devices that supported iOS 13.
